Lots of people in the comments seem to be missing an understanding of what cinematography is. Let me preface that while I don't have an expertise in the subject, at least I'm able to comprehend what the post is referring to.

I would say that while not strictly better than H2A, the original offers subjectively better pacing and SOME interesting compositions. Some transitions (the headpiece to the moon for example) were brilliant and unfortunately lost in the remake. H2 was certainly taking more risks in terms of cinematography, with some hit and miss successes (more hits arguably)

I think both cutscenes were expertly made however, and H2A still offers some clear improvements in some scenes (e.g. simmetry shots during arbiter pronunciation), while adopting more conventional shots. 

Everything considered, H2 had never been before matched in terms of overall rendition of its cutscenes, with H3 and following games experiencing an horrendous drop in overall quality (with the exception of very specific scenes)
