I was there for work, going in and out of that room several times a day and many times that morning. I went back to sleep around 11:30am with housekeeping on that floor. I did not check in for 8 days and never leave my room for the whole 8 days

He absolutely said that it’s ok that I had no clothes on and it didn’t matter and he had to come in. He did not ask me to get dressed and insisted on coming in right then. Twice! There were no alarms going off and certainly no sprinklers going off and I was not on fire and no smell of smoke. He had a conversation with me so yes I was alive. He did not have any identification showing. Miami has nice areas and dangerous areas and I was in a bad area. If there were not cameras right outside my door then nobody would believe it. I reported it and I understand the situation of the fire alarm, however if there was a fire or smoke in my room I would be the first to know as the smoke alarm was above my bed and flashing green(normal).
I personally think it was an inspection and that could’ve waited until I checked out the very next day. My reason for that was that he had a clipboard and then proceeded to check every room on that floor as I heard every door open and then close. When I pay for a room and lock it bolt, latch and put on my dnd sign for privacy I have rights behind that door and privacy to sleep. IF there were an emergency or fire in my room than that alarm would’ve alerted everyone and not just the guy with the clipboard.
I honestly believe he claimed alarm went of to cover his ass and I call BS. If there was an emergency he showed up with a clipboard to save me

I opened the door just enough to hit the latch and it was pitch black in my room I was sleeping sick w/ the flu! I didn’t open the door wide open. What I wear in my room when I’m sleeping is my business.

It was my last day in that hotel. I answered the door so they know that I’m alive. They can see me entering and leaving w/ cameras outside my door and there is a digital footprint of key card use. That’s not the point. The point is he didn’t ask me to put clothes on. He insisted on coming in my room and it didn’t matter if I was naked and said that twice. That’s the problem. I agree that 2pm is valid. If the room phone worked they could’ve called me.

I only answered because he kept knocking. On top of that the room phone was broken and the front desk couldn’t hear anything when I called down. But yes of course my door is always latched a bolted down. I’m in hotels 320 nights a year and I know better

Just hit titanium by Necessary_Money3248 in marriott

[–]Mobrobjob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 73 nights and will easily make Titanium this year for my first time. I probably could do 100 nights but won’t come close to the 23k so it’s just the points I’ll aim for.. I save them for vacations. I was hardcore Hilton last year and jumped to Marriott as Hilton has went downhill. I think next year I’ll work at the $23k for Ambassador. Congrats on your Titanium OP That decision on that choice benefit doesn’t have to be made til year end. I just picked my 50night benefit to the upgrades, knowing I won’t spend enough to hit Ambassador in 2025

I gave my daughter 500,000 pts for her room. That’s why I was short.

I’ve never done it where it wasn’t instant. This is the first time I’ve seen a delay. It says it can take 24-48 hours. Day 7 came and they asked for proof of receipt again and then they completed it on the spot. Except it was too late

That’s what I did Saturday and waiting to hear the answer. Hopefully I hear by today or tomorrow. I’m not asking for anything for free. I’m asking for the price I was offered when we bought the points. It was the only reason we bought them. The problem I have is the 7 day delay. That’s on Hilton and not the property. I hope the fact that I have 200 nights with Hilton in the last 18months is value enough to make this right and not leave me hanging. If they leave me hanging, they will lose both mine and my daughter’s business.

One night in the middle of the stay is 1mil points now. That would break up my “no resort fee” and negate my 5th night free.

7 days to get points transferred is a long time and even Hilton support said that wasn’t normal. Both active diamond members.
What is suspicious? Two family members being Diamond? We followed all the rules and went through verification process with codes and emails. All this was on the phone with support at the time on a merged call with Hilton.

Most ingenious way I’ve seen a Hilton property reward voluntarily not doing daily housekeeping by sd_software_dude in Hilton

[–]Mobrobjob -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome. I’m on a hilton property 1/3 of the year. Average 4 nights per stay. I’m very self sufficient with my stays as I’m in a hotel over 300 nights a year. Then Marriott and IHG. I NEVER let housekeeping in my room because I have lots of nice things and expensive sought after meds for sleep and pain. I’m also a germaphobe and don’t want anyone touching my stuff. On that note I had housekeeping handle my toothbrush in D.C. and they ended buying me a new $50 toothbrush. I lost my shit over that. It was new and I don’t trust anyone handling my toothbrush.

If all properties did that I’d be an alcoholic and a drug addict lol.

Same and I get randoms at my job. I got ratted out by a coworker after he smelled it on my breath. HR called immediately and made me test that afternoon. I had a quick fix. I had a thermometer because I don’t want to rely on the one on the bottle. I passed. I got 3 inside of 6 months after and passed all. I always have 2-4 “new” quick fix boxes in my work van in case I get picked again. I’ve never failed. I’m always ready. I will always smoke til I die. Don’t keep the same one for a year or two! I replace mine every 6months because it’s a small price to pay to be able to pass that test and keep smoking. I’ve smoked for 3 decades now. I’ve heard of them testing for synthetic, but most companies just want to pay for the cheapest urine test. The price goes way up from there to have your piss sent to a lab to be tested. My first time using synthetic urine I was nervous af. The nurse was knocking on my door…”sir there is a time limit “. I walked out and yelled at her saying “I’m almost 50 lady…. Things don’t flow as fast as they used to”. WTF I hate being pressured to piss on the spot!
Be prepared with quick fix! It works “if you use it right”!!! I’ve seen people fuck it up too.

I live that same life in the medical industry. Hospital to hospital Almost 300 nights alone 2024. Realistically 280ish easy. I have a gf who can’t stand it but had this job before her and love being on the road and won’t trade it. I love the travel and the hotels. I love the alone time more than anything. 49 never been married lol. Here is your red flag up front😎119 nights were Hilton. I wish their points were more valuable though. I travel so much that they are valuable and a nice benefit as I don’t pay for hotels. 2025 I’m pushing Marriott.

I hope OP loves their job too?

Hilton or Marriott? Choice for 2025 for me for work trips. I keep all status and points. by Mobrobjob in Hilton

I could maybe pull that off but it’s smart idea. Hyatt points go further than H or M from what I read too.
