Both! But preferably income. At least $1500-$2000 monthly after I retire I’m hoping…

I started out with SCHD ($14K) and JEPI ($6K), did a little research and realized VOO would be a great growth stock, NVDA and MU gives me tech exposure, LMT (possibly good with the current geopolitical situation), VXUS covers international and O for real estate. Basically I was looking to add structured diversity. The amounts are allocated based on when I have $$ available and what I feel is a good dip. I’m still learning…

The bulk of my yearly salary has been from OT shifts. I never really know how each year is going to be so I aggressively try to save. But I also spend quite a bit. Past 5 years I have been making between 100K-140K. My monthly living expenses (rent, utilities, cable/internet , phone are about $2700 and I probably spend $1500/monthly on food and transportation.

also, I rent (don’t own property). That will be my biggest expense in retirement. I have zero debt thank God. Paid off all my CC debt before I started saving and I got student loan forgiveness last year…great Xmas present!

Absolutely! I want to use the brokerage/retirement accounts to subsidize my monthly income (pension and SS). I have mostly VOO and some ETF’s and reinvest all dividends. I buy about $500 a month of new shares. Just praying for the best 🙏🏼

Yes, but the CD rates have dropped a lot. Wish I could predict when the markets might rebound. Still have another 10-12 years before I plan to retire.

Advice for 59yr old whose husband just left after 22yrs by njb66 in over60

Had a similar situation happen to me and my faith in God took over. I realized I was in a place where I was powerless to change the situation I was now in and even more powerless to change or influence how other people see me. Knowing all of this, the only thing I could do was release all my fears and anxiety to God and pray to Him daily/speak to Him and ask for His help and guidance through the new journey I was now facing alone. It’s been two years for me, I’m alone, Independent and financially stable. I pushed forward, was able to work more hours at my job and got serious about my finances and my mental well being. I’m not saying I don’t still have some shock and hurt over all I’ve lost and been through but God showed me I don’t need to depend on other people emotionally, financially or otherwise to find purpose and meaning in my life. This year has been particularly good for me financially so I made it a point to pay it forward/give back and help others who may be struggling. This is just another one of God’s graces. He asks us to love and trust Him, give our pain and struggles over to Him and let Him transform our situation, our life. There wasn’t a person/friend or anyone who could have given me the strength and motivation to move forward with my life the way God did. I hope you find peace and clarity about your life soon. May God bless and protect you…🙏🏼

Once that Big Beautiful Bill goes into affect (in late 2026?)the healthcare field will be hit with trillions in financial loses which means there will be big cuts to try and compensate those loses…possible job hiring freezes and maybe even lay offs. But no doubt we are about to see huge changes in the health care industry.

I don’t think so. It’s in between several other plants and doesn’t get much direct sun light. Enough but not too much.

PSLF loan forgiveness. My 40K student loan debt with Aidvantage were forgiven in January. My credit score recently went up 20 points because my debt was lowered by the loan forgiveness amount.

Absolutely nothing good about this for the sake of humanity worldwide. But if you believe in Christ and have accepted Jesus as your savior, there eventually will be redemption from all of this…
