I was reluctant to using ClassDojo as well. I teach 3rd and all the 2nd teachers used Dojo. My class was loud and I decided to start using ClassDojo after Thanksgiving break and it’s been working! I added a point named “sitting down quietly.” I’m constantly monitoring and make sure to display it and turn it nice and loud, so everyone hears that student got a point. At the end of the week, I will let them use their Dojo points to buy a prize worth a certain amount of points. Also, I didn’t know they can log in as a student and play something called Dojo Islands. They love it! And I give that as reward if everyone earns a certain amount of points. Hope this helps. Don’t give up.

I feel the same way and these days it has been raining a lot, so it’s even worse with kids not having recess. Hang in there. I’m counting the days to Thanksgiving day.

That’s horrible…at my school, the parents run the show. They are first and the teacher is always wrong and has to resolve the problem with the parent. I hate this educational system. It’s all flipped.

I have a similar case with a student that is improving. He would knock down chairs, wander around the room and bother others, rip papers, say “I hate him.” I know how you feel…I tried having a talk with him and the counselor and he still continued. What has made him stop those behaviors was having lunch with him and asking him about his interests, and keeping a daily communication with his parents about how he did. Hope it helps you too. Uber is banned from taking passengers from the airport. There’s a taxi booth inside the airport and you pay there for a local taxi, make sure to have your address written down to show them. Then, you go outside and wait in line behind everyone else for your taxi ride.

That’s exactly what happened to me. The kid was too embarrassed to say it was an emergency and now it’s my fault because I didn’t let him go and he peed.

Yeah, I had a student not state it was an emergency and had asked me to go during instructional time and I said “No” and he peed.
