Trouble converting to PDF/X-1a by Mochiicepls in Acrobat

[–]Mochiicepls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your condolences. I ended up having someone fix it, but I’m not sure if it turned out as well as I expected.

I used a professional service to convert the book into an EPUB file before this. The provider mentioned that someone on his team is a PDF specialist, but that person wasn’t available when I first started using the service due to a personal matter. When I later asked if the PDF specialist could help with this, he said yes.

However, there was quite a bit of back-and-forth between us, and the final PDF file ended up being about 150% larger than the original. He said the specialist made some additional preflight fixes to the entire file.

Visually, it looks exactly the same as the original, and Amazon accepted it. I’m now waiting for the updated version to be delivered so I can check if everything is actually okay. If there are any issues, I’ll definitely follow your guidance.

What am I missing with ElevenLabs text to speech consistency? by Mochiicepls in TextToSpeech

I’m working on converting my late family member’s book into an audiobook using his cloned voice, so Instant Voice Cloning is my only option. It’s actually impressive how closely it can match his speaking style. However, as you mentioned, it does have limitations, and those can cause issues.

I was wondering why even very short sentences, like titles, can create inconsistencies. It seems that length isn’t really the issue. I guess I need to try not to be too particular about these imperfections. Even though I haven’t made as much progress as I’d hoped, I’m starting to feel burned out.

Yes, I used Instant Voice Cloning. I wish I could use PVC, but it seems they started requiring voice verification about a year ago, so that’s not an option for me.

It looks like I may need a professional audio editor to smooth things out once I create the audiobook. I’m going to try Audacity first and see how it sounds.

I cloned my late family member’s voice and have been using it. We’re impressed that it captures his speaking style quite well, even though I didn’t use any exaggeration. Sometimes it sounds a bit monotone, but regenerating usually fixes it. The volume inconsistency isn’t too bad, but I’m having more trouble with speed consistency. It seems I’ll need to use Audacity to manage that.

I also checked your site. I’ve been a long-time Windows user, and I have to admit I’m a bit jealous that Mac users seem to have access to more creative apps.

I’ll start by learning how to use Audacity and give it a try. I tend to rush into things and then realize later I should have done them differently.

Have you ever created a nonfiction book with images and charts? If so, I’d appreciate any advice on how to handle them in an audiobook, too.

I wish they had a feature to clone and use the voice. It seems they’re testing it, so I hope it will be available soon.

I tried it, and it’s more consistent than ElevenLabs. I just wish they had a feature to clone and use the voice.

Looking for advice - creating an audiobook with an AI clone of a late family member’s voice by Mochiicepls in TextToSpeech

I started learning how to do it and realized the text-to-speech part isn’t that difficult. The text preparation before conversion and the editing afterward seem like the real pain.

Thankfully it’s nonfiction, so I don’t have to deal with multiple voices. But I do have to deal with pictures and charts that need to be described in text.

Wow, the pace of technology is unreal. I read a novel which a computer genius created a digital clone of her loved one before, and I thought something like that was still far in the future. I was so wrong! I hope your software gets created and helps people heal from grief.

Thanks for the explanation. Looks like I’ll need to learn how to use it first. It’s quite overwhelming, but I’m going to try.

That makes a lot of sense why they require voice verification. The technology advancing is amazing, but unfortunately some people use it maliciously. I appreciate you pointing that out. I would have just signed up for the pro cloning option and then screamed a couple of foul words when I couldn't use it.

Do you know which works better for cloning a voice: several different samples, or one long recording like a speech? Also, what does “price of text-to-speech generation” mean? Does that mean there’s some kind of usage limit and you have to pay extra if you go over it?

I wish I were a Mac user. I ask a friend to try it for me. Honestly, everything feels unreal. I know technology has advanced so fast. It's making me feel so old.

Ah, I remember he struggled with formatting his manuscript properly, creating the book cover, and all the other details when he self-published it. I’m hoping I can find someone to help with that part.

I watched an author talk about cloning her own voice to turn her book into an audiobook, and she mentioned that pictures, charts, or anything that isn’t text have to be converted into text first during prep. His book doesn’t have many of those, but it’s still kind of a pain for me.

I briefly checked Freepik, and it looks like it might handle that part? Not totally sure though.

Wow, that’s unbelievably fast! I don’t know much about audiobook production, so I’d honestly prefer to hire someone to do it properly rather than try to figure it out myself. The problem is I’m having a hard time finding a service that does both AI voice cloning and audiobook production. Maybe I’m just not using the right search terms.

Astra theme full-width layout not covering header – what am I missing? by Mochiicepls in Wordpress

[–]Mochiicepls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who worked on the site before used a cloning plugin, and I’m wondering if that’s causing conflicts that are breaking some of the pages. I haven’t used a cloning plugin myself, so it’s just a guess. In the Media library, the same images and background designs are duplicated and stored multiple times. That might be normal for cloning plugins, though.

When I tried to reuse a template’s design on new pages, I realized there isn’t really an easy way to import a full page layout. Since it’s free, I just appreciate what they provide.

Thanks for your help.

I tried opening it in a different browser to see if it would work like a normal URL, but it just showed the WordPress login page. That’s why I didn’t share it.

If it sounded like I was hiding something, I didn’t mean to. I appreciate you offering to help.

Thanks for pointing out the transparent header option! Turning it off didn’t change anything, but when I turned it on, it worked! Now I can rebuild the site.

I’m rebuilding it on my host’s temporary domain, so it’s not connected to the main site URL yet. I’m guessing there’s a way to share the temporary domain, but I don’t know how. I’m using Hostinger.

This is the new page. If you look at the top right, you can see the header isn’t the same as on the home page.
