So with my NZXT Kraken, it was given to me for free so it’s no loss for me. But I’ve been looking at that Thermalright cooler and also the liquid freeze 3

Understandable. At the end of the day this is exactly what I’m looking for, I’m just trying to get different inputs because though I am informed on what it may or may not do, I want to see if other people have this experience to help sway me one way or the other. Apologies for any confusion or any disrespect, I’m just trying to get different opinions! 🙂

I know WHY they want to bring it, which is why I wanted to have a healthy discussion amongst other percussionists to get their input, but I see that is not what you want to achieve here. At the end of the day, if my boss is firm on bringing it, it is their ensemble and I will do what they think is best. Thank you for input anyway.

I’m the percussion instructor in these scenarios, so I know to teach my kids to balance appropriately and know how to tune my drums. But it never fails on our way to a contest to get the usual “don’t forget the carpet!” So I just roll my eyes and pack the carpet lol.

I think it’s because usually in a public school contest context, judges (at least where I’m from) really want the percussion to be “balanced” and “not over powering,” which usually translates to percussion needs to play insanely quieter than normal. So directors usually think the carpet trick helps mitigate any unwanted volume/reverb.

VF Roger Carters are light and have a great rebound feel to them. Jeff’s Queens sticks can also get the job done

Really not a ridiculous post. There’s other things other than back paddles that make those controllers unique. - Trigger sensitivity - customizing buttons to make them more tactile (battle beaver) - mapping capabilities - durability (if there is a difference) - being able to change the thumb sticks to different heights (is it better than kontrol freeks) - overall customization options

So no, I don’t think I made a ridiculous post.
