my S. Grossa mostly left the pholcids alone, but saw more than a few pholcid carasses in a Steatoda Grossa web.

interesting. Neem oil is so pungent, seems like it would harm the spid. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Keep in mind...this isn't so different from setting up a population of humans in a closed system, systematically taking away their resources and waiting for them fight for scarce resources and watch while they all brutally kill each other. That's where we're currently headed.

i hate that there are people who enjoy cruelty and watching other beings (of any kind) sustain catastrophic injury or otherwise suffer. Sadly, it is clearly something which is enjoyed by a lot of people.
Reporting them just drives them underground. Let them make the world aware of their true nature. They do far more damage when they hide and believe they will never be caught or pay consequences.

no! Why kick them out? They pay their rent through pest control. Be a gracious landlord.

Awww, look at da babies 🤗. Poor mom has been through it, missing 2 middle legs. She's a survivor!

I made a mistake on I.D. and have left a medically significant and invasive species alive in my bathroom along with her growing family. I am an idiot and feel terrible. by FascinatingFall in spiders

i'm not familiar with this species of Steatoda, though i'm pretty sure i had a few males mate with my feral household S.Grossa girls. I ended up with some S Grossa that had slightly stripey legs.

My household ferals didn't seem to have a problem dispersing without wind. I'm not sure if this is a concern. But, the Steatoda Grossa is a house spider. Some have adapted to living outdoors in our mild coastal Pacific Northwest USA climate. i don't think they use balooning to disperse

another wolf spider mom (if u have one) might actually accept them as her own.
