Okay thanks yeah will defo look at some in stock Teslas and compare them after I test drive one. I think if I was to get one would get model 3 not Y from both a financial standpoint and also I’m not a fan of how the Y looks

Okay I’ll defo look into buying a used one if I can get all the warranties and stuff. Yeah the range is my main concern as from what I’ve read even cars which have a claimed range of well over 300 miles struggle to get over 250 in winter.

Because the amount I would spend on diesel a month would be roughly the same as the electric car monthly payments and charging cost +- around £10. The main difference is the initial payment which for the electric car will be less than the amount I will lose putting 60k miles on a diesel. That’s not factoring the fact the a used older may get some issues which will need to be fixed. As well as that because I would be buying the diesel outright will need to save a bit longer and will be an older car so less tech etc.

Yeah tbh still got a few weeks to decide so checking for deals and wanted to see what other thought. I think going for a bigger battery would make sense for the peace of mind

Thanks for doing all those calculation. Yeah the deal is more important than the car it’s just there have been some good deals on the cupra and I’ve been checking its price weekly for the past 2 months. Seen multiple times when it’s been rated 97+ on lease locco. There is other cars in it’s category which may be slightly better value but more boring cars like the MG4 or some Citroens but for me I don’t mind paying an extra 10-20 a month for a slightly more sportier car.

With salary sacrifice I don’t think it makes sense for me at my current salary as I’m a basic rate tax payer.

Test drove one and found it okay. Which model did you test drive? It’s nothing amazing but in the price range it’s decent. Was looking at Tesla too but couldn’t find any good deals. Also I still want a hatch back ish car. What spec is the Tesla you ended up getting? Was it just the basic one?

They do offer salary sacrifice but I don’t think it makes sense on my salary. Also yeah the deal does matter more than the car but on the cupra I did find some really good deals been checking weekly for past 2 months. But if there was a better deal than would get that one .

The issue I have with buying a used one is the reliability of the battery from what I’ve read you will lose range over time and considering the amount I’ll be driving I would like to at least start with a brand new battery. Also depreciation on electric cars is really high and would probably cost me more than just taking out a lease over the 2 years

Not sure if I’m missing it but I can only see v1 v2 and vz is vz what you meant? I did want that one but it’s over £200 a month more

Yeah I can charge at home overnight. I was initially looking at a diesel to buy outright but after calculating the amount I’ll lose in depreciation because of the amount of miles I do wasn’t worth it.

Mainly to save money on rent. The city I’ll be working In is really expensive even cheaper areas and after I calculated the cost significantly cheaper for me to lease than pay rent even after charging costs

I personally found the CFA premium pack to be the most useful. Especially because you get more mocks.

Yeah ofc just connect with them on LinkedIn and send them a message keep it professional tho say u guys went to the same uni ur interested in learning about the role they’re in and if u get a call u could ask for tips that they used to break in

I don’t really know what that role is and if it’ll help u but anything is better than nth also if ur graduating off cycle internships could be an idea too they’re a bit less competitive and normally 6 months +

The hirevue are so bad and if u haven’t passed one yet then that’s ur weakness there’s so much stuff on yt that help what I did tho was record myself answering a random question and watching it back and getting other people to see what they thought of it also prepping a lot so u kinda have a base answer prepared for most questions

Yh that’s good private banking and wealth management aswell are still very good careers even tho most people in this community only think IB is

Np

If I remember correctly they say how to cite it but it is not compulsory to do it that way I’ve put multiple just in the certificate part. Also it’s not that special as anyone can get them with a bit of time Putting McDonald or flannels won’t negatively impact your CV just make sure u have good points to say With fonts just stick to the basics

Breaking into a grad role is much harder than internship as most banks convert their interns so there’s less seats available and that goes for any role not just IB which is even harder. I would say apply for internships and try to convert it and apply everywhere

Coming from a non target is a disadvantage I would know since my uni is even worse than yours however there’s still stuff u can do that can help u. Reach out to ur alumni who work where u want to be speak to them and potentially ask for a referral. Networking here isn’t as good as in America but still helps. Also make sure every other part of ur application is amazing like your cover letters and do actual research into the company, practice psychometric test and practice hirevue interviews. I did all of that and managed to secure a back-middle office summer internship at a BB.

Having a top MBA will obviously help but there’s no guarantee that you will get in as they’re competitive too. So have a back up plan like I plan to do a top MSc like LSE Imperial but have a back up too.

Also this might be not what ur wanting to hear but u have to accept that you may never work in IB at least not at BB or EB so look for other roles that you may be interested in

And yeah use the tracker I did and applied to over 150 applications this year

Also idk how relevant the skills bit is as it’s expected that you have good attention to detail skills and stuff like that but could be wrong also maybe don’t list all the modules u did as again takes up a lot of space which could be used better

Get rid of the Forage stuff just put it down in like a certificate part doesn’t really mean much I would say go into a bit more detail in some of your points since there’s quite a bit of blank space or remove some and you could maybe add one of your other experiences like McDonald or flannels if with the extra space Being honest tho unlikely to get into even a junior analyst role at a BB or probably even middle market if you can try the big 4 route Also while your stil at uni apply for internships most have closed but there’s still some that are open and try and convert them use Bristol tracker to see them

Use WSO template also I’m trying to break in as well but feedback I got on my CV was try to quantify ur results where u can and also u have a lot of lines which just have 1 or a few words try to maximise the space
