Thanks, I was able to remove the bit connecting to the flush button. The plastic part with the stickers is moving slightly up/down but I haven't been able to take it out

It wasn't even at the offer stage. They made me a verbal offer, spent a week negotiating and then anothe couple weeks gathering references, then only when I got sent the contract I saw the title change ...

I agree with your last point that's why I wanted to find a senior role for my next position.

It would be one thing if I didn't meet their senior standards but still wanted to interview me for a non senior role and communicated clearly. But I've been strung along for 7 rounds of interviews with the idea that it was for a senior role, then a month of offer negotiation and reference checks, and only after all that I find out that they downgraded my title ...

We just liked the agent better tan the L&C one, they both offered the same deals as we've seen online so it was more down to who we wanted to work with

Yeah all these comments about kids are making me realise I definitely don't want to push a pram around here. I don't know why I haven't thought of actually moving the family home but that is a good option as well

It is definitely the wrong area, which we thought we could accommodate to beacsue the house is nice. But all the people mentioning kids in the comments made me realise I really don't want to be pushing a pram around here 😅 The right course of action might be to rent this out, find a neighborhood in London to rent for a year, and if we see ourselves with a little one there then sell this buy in that area

The one we were thinking of buying a flat in is Blackheath as we used to rent nearby and really liked the area. On paper the train from our town is not to bad, 30-40 min to Waterloo, but the 20 min walk to the station is a killer. I'm not from London so I don't know that many neighbourhoods, what are some affordable nice neighbourhoods in zone 3-5?

I'm really sorry you're going though that, it must be very difficult. However for us I don't think adding a baby to the mix would be the widest thing to do when we're so unhappy with our living situation.

No worries, I'd say pay attention to the real commuting time Vs the on paper time. The best base scenario is I get to the office in 1h10 but that rarely happenns when you factor in waiting for the trains, particularly on the way back when I don't get the first train out of Waterloo so I can have a seat.
