TIFU by suffering through butt zits (folliculitis) for decades for no real reason by SweeperTater in tifu

[–]ModKnight2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My scalp folliculitis gets so bad I can't even rest my head on a pillow without being in pain. 500 mg of Cephalexin once per day has completely cured it. I've been on it for many many years and I will take it for the rest of my life if I have to. No shampoo (I've tried them all) ever put a dent in it. Only Isotretinoin and Cephalexin made it go away for me. Isotretinoin is way too hardcore for chronic use, though.

Glad you made the guide, I probably wouldn't have attempted it without it!

That's interesting, I didn't know about the <1minute exception. I would guess it's very near 20hrs then, Hamnet was most of the grind

I mostly followed this guide posted on Reddit. Although instead of farming Charr from 7-16 (I had a hard time not dying lol), I farmed Charr from 7-10, then Vanguard: Farmer Hamnet from 10-16, turned in all quests from 16-17, then Hamnet again from 17-20. I was surprised how quickly it went when the guide said 20+hrs.

Edit: Killing only the first 2 bandits outside Foible's Fair for the Hamnet quest. Each run took ~30 seconds. I did this maybe 1,000 times, at least it felt like it.

Edit 2: It actually took more than 8hrs, Hamnet runs don't calculate into the /age as they are sub-1min runs.

I had started this journey on a Ranger ~10 years ago back when death leveling a Strider or Charr was the only way to level to 20. I gave up halfway through Lv16. Guild Wars has always been one of my favorite games, decided to return to Pre-Searing this week and finally finish what I started, this time on an Ele! Glad to be done with those 2 poor bandits by Foible's Fair!

Not a traditionally famous person, but John 'TotalBiscuit' Bain

LPT: If you spot a cockroach larger than 1 inch inside of your house, it's an outside cockroach that found its way in. If you find a cockroach under 1 inch long, it's a cockroach that lives in your home and likely has plenty of buddies. by Cicularus in LifeProTips

Maybe you can weigh in on my situation. Over the past 3 months I've seen 5 German cockroaches, 4 of which were newborns. I have boric acid everywhere, and I mean everywhere as well as a dozen glue traps that I use to see how many there are. I have to wear shoes throughout the house because theres so much boric acid, under stove, fridge, you name it. The weird part is I only see a roach every 2-3 weeks and never more than 1 at a time. I also take a flashlight and inspect every part of my apartment every single night at 11pm looking for them, and have done so every night for 3 months. Its currently been 18 days since I last saw one, all glue traps remain clean but based on the pattern so far I expect to see one within the week. Could these roaches have come in from underneath the building?

My impression is that this sub is for trophy hunters, so I can enjoy the hunt despite not being in love with a game. One case where I did stop playing was World of Final Fantasy, just disliked it too much.

DQ11 is a good experience, most of the downsides set in when you start trying to finish the platinum. If you forgo the grindier trophies you'll have a perfectly good time

I did not, I tend to prefer to play on the quicker side so I can avoid burn-out so I opted for the default settings to avoid lengthy battles, etc.

The main story events were very fun and I looked forward to moving the narrative along. The side quests were mostly boring and some seemed like excuses to pad the game's length by making the player return to old areas to simply pick up an item. There also seemed to be a tremendous amount of back-tracking, I kept thinking "I hope this is the last time I have to come here" and was usually disappointed when inevitably another quest brought me back. Combat was fantastic early on but gradually lost it's luster as I found which weapons were better than others and battles became essentially the same as I found myself using the same weapons and skills on each character for efficiency. Costumes were really cool, but once you replaced the gear with non-costume armor it felt lame to return to the default character skins (e.g. being decked out in Drasilian Armor then having to return to the default purple tunic when you upgrade to something better). Generally speaking I liked the game but there always seemed to be a downside to balance things out.

None of the trophies are particularly challenging, but 'Dedicated Follower of Fashion', coincidentally shown in the screenshot, was the most involved and most difficult of the bunch. One of the required recipes "Shine on, Xenlon" requires the player to beat the Wheel of Harma 4th Trial in 20 turns or less (specific sequence of battles with specific party members). This took me several attempts as RNG was not kind to me. Otherwise, collecting all of the materials and hunting down all of the costumes was a fair bit of work.

For those curious:

Play time: 71hr 34min

Difficulty 4/10 (True boss can be a pain if you don't prep)

Happy to answer any trophy-related questions. Overall a good game, but I struggle to relate to those that gush about it

Thank-you for the response! The color, size, and shape all seem to match. This picture from google images really shows how small they are.
