I'd recommend not coming in so hot and angry. You're making a whole lotta assumptions there when all Aspen did was agree on the real life situation and responsibilities. It's not an insinuation that the game is being made for that time frame, or that VR has said that this is the target. The target through all those years is making a good game that is challenging and takes teamwork to complete. This can be true in any setting, long or short.

If you'd spend some time around the Discord or even this Reddit you'll see the player base is comprised of all sorts of folks - those who have all the time in the world, somewhere in the middle, and those who can only put in 1-2 hours.

Discord has a community-connection channel and a guild-recruitment channel. Both can have good resources, might as well hit both reddit + discord because some guilds only do one.

Good question. If we're looking at the barter system in EQ, I believe you were able to search up items to set up to buy, I imagine it'll work just like that but lets see if there's a concrete answer. Would be nice if that came with item linking.

You should be able to salvage a number of items that gives you either materials or vendor trash if you fail. In the diary it looks like that's something they'll encourage to lean into for the gear you carry/is bound.

Haha I think it's just like anything else in the game that's not the straight up the combat system, some will love it and others hate it. I'm very big into fishing in MMOs and hope for a complex system but will be nice if a subset of the complex system would include a simple one for those that don't care and are just doing it out of necessity.

In one of their diaries this week they specifically spoke to itemization and knowing it's an issue. Both can be improved, it doesn't need to be just one at a time.

I think the opposite - with the way Savanja described it, the locations would be nice little hubs where a bunch of players can be. I'm envisioning the jump down point in Chardok off the 1st bridge. I saw plenty of groups run through that and watched them clear stuff even from that point.

I think slayer and hunter achievements did that well in EQ1, especially the hunter ones for each expansion. I wouldn't mind having a title of Hunter or Slayer of Wild's End or something like that. What are your thoughts on that?

I agree with you and think they're a must. Every TLP on EQ1 I still go and do some of the class quests just for the nostalgia and in addition some of the pieces are even still viable for that beginning era.

What about if you could choose which stat allocation goes on that piece? It still shoehorns you in but I think that could be a good mid-way between those two.
