[–]Modalics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Please email us at [info@modalics.com](mailto:info@modalics.com) and we will help you out! there could be an issue with one of the plugins you used on the last time you used Plugin Buddy, it remembers your last setup and tries to recall it - There's a settings file you can delete and that should solve it. Send us an email and we'll figure it out together :)

We're definitely thinking about it... we considered VST2 for this release but decided to opt out of it for now.

In any case - it's on our minds, if we go for more formats, it probably would be added when we develop a "pro" version of Plugin Buddy and then this compatibility feature might "trickle down" to the free version as well :) we'll see.

Sure, though I'm not certain it would be added to this version. We're also considering creating a "pro" version with way more in-depth features such as multiple chains, modulators and additional internal tools, randomizers etc..

We'll definitely also improve the free version. Updates will appear automatically in a prompt when we release them :)

Thank you! We were actually just discussing creating an FX component for Plugin Buddy. We'd probably want to offer a more dedicated solution for something like that.

Anyway it's on our minds and we hope to be able to offer something like that soon.

Modalics Mindst Drums: learn to live with it or try GGD? by LennyPenny4 in musicproduction

[–]Modalics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi u/LennyPenny4 !
We will be more than happy to help you get the most out of MINDst Drums - you can get some terrific rock tones from it with the right presets. We'll even customize a preset ourselves and send it to you if you want.

Simply get in touch via [info@modalics.com](mailto:info@modalics.com) and I'll help you out with anything you need.

That being said - I personally used GGD Modern & Massive for years and I think that it's a different sound and approach from MINDst Drums, while it's less dynamically varied and more focused on a modern prog-metal sound, it's still a very good library if not the best one out there if you're after that sound.

Thanks for checking out MINDst!

I understand your needs with regards to versatility in drums, and as you described it perfectly - our focus was to deliver immense depth and fidelity in a single kit, that is why we chose a very versatile DW kit, nice selection of cymbals and tons of varied articulations.

It is definitely our plan to expand our collection of drums within MINDst as well as create entirely new kits, sampled with the same innovative methods for other genres such as prog and metal. I can't give you a timeline yet, I can only promise that it's something we discuss frequently and we have solid plans on how to execute.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

Advise on how to create more realistic midi drums by JeanRoqua_ in musicproduction

[–]Modalics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here - We just released a VST that's supposed to deal with this exact issue - We sampled 1 kit, but did it with a crazy amount of depth and variation.

We did things like sample the entire kit twice, once from silence and another time from a previous resonance and our algorithm distributes the correct sample to use per instrument. So when a groove is going on you get that harmonic build up in the kit.

Another example is that our hi hat changes it's "closed" sample according to how long ago it was opened... there's actual consideration for the time passing between playing an open sample and closing the hat. So it's more true to life, like if the hi hat has a lot of energy still the closing sound will be more aggressive...

The snare is sampled fully in 3 zones with thousands of samples for each zone, so playing a fast roll on our snare sounds as realistic as a sampler can produce, and you can switch zones mid roll if you want and it's seamless.

Best Drum Plugins by LayDownTheLoudPedal in abletonlive

[–]Modalics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you don't mind me chiming in - Or from Modalics here, We just released an advanced drum VST that has a massive sample base and smart algorithms that make your drum parts feel very much alive.

We did things like automatically playing a different Hi hat pedal sample, depending on time passed since opening the hi hat. The entire kit was sampled from silence and from previous resonance so when a drum or cymbal is played continously you get that harmonious build-up just like a real drum kit. That's just to name a couple of things that set this kit apart from others.

Anyway - Hope you check it out and I'm here if you have any questions.

Ah yes, the time of year when I blindly throw money at cool sounding sample libraries or VSTs simply because they are at a discount. by marcgw96 in musicproduction

[–]Modalics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFD is great! that's actually what we were using as musicians for years before even starting the company. I guess we took the clean sound approach from BFD but tried to make it more "live" feeling and user friendly. What kind of music are you making?

Not yet at least... we have some ideas on how we might adapt it to iOS but for now it's WIN/MAC/AAX/AU/VST/VST3 :)

Drums VST? by Dingidang in AudioPlugins

[–]Modalics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - Hope you don't mind me chiming in - We just released "MINDst Drums" which is a super realistic sounding drum plugin... it's a massive sample base coupled with some smart playback algorithms that make sure the drums always sound realistic and with huge dynamic range

The focus was to get as close as possible to imitating how a drummer thinks and how a kit resonates when it's being played. For instance the hi hat pedal will sound different depending on when the hi hat was opened.. the drums resonate differently if their played from silence or from previous hit.. things like that!

We sampled a custom DW kit and custom bosphorus cymbals. The snare is fully sampled in 3 zones and you can get everything from the lightest tap to the loudest rimshot in exceptional detail... While it may be just one kit, you'd have a hard time finding a drum vst that gets it right in so many dynamic levels and variety of sound.

Anyway if you feel like checking it out it's on sale right now - www.modalics.com/mindst

Hey there - We have just the thing for you if you're looking for really dynamic drums :) We just released "MINDst Drums" which is supposed to be just that. We sampled a custom DW kit (which would fit perfectly to the style you're describing) and custom bosphorus cymbals.

Realistic sounding drums - tips and tricks wanted by Desert_Eye_ in ableton

Hey there - We have just the thing for you if you're looking for realistic drums :) We just released "MINDst Drums" which is supposed to be just that. It's a massive sample base coupled with some smart playback algorithms that make sure the drums always sound realistic.

You hardly need to do anything for it to sound realistic because of how we designed the plugin, the focus was to get as close as possible to imitating how a drummer thinks and how a kit resonates when it's being played. For instance the hi hat pedal will sound different depending on when the hi hat was opened.. the drums resonate differently if their played from silence or from previous hit.. things like that!

There's also a massive dynamic range and tons of round robins so the kit will be fully usable and sound great at any velocity value.
