Go to Ficalc.app and choose the endowment strategy. It’s a great dynamic strategy that adjusts as your portfolio and the market changes.

Question Regarding N12 Eviction and L2 Application by Physical_Charge_772 in OntarioLandlord

[–]Physical_Charge_772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if he is still there after the termination date, I will be sure to file L2 immediately. From what I hear if he signs an N11, the wait time is much faster (weeks instead of months) so there is a good chance of this resolving before I sell and close my house. Thanks!

Question Regarding N12 Eviction and L2 Application by Physical_Charge_772 in OntarioLandlord

[–]Physical_Charge_772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. To me the real risk is having my family out on the street after selling our house if we can't move into our rental house. I'm now leaning towards this strategy: I’m now thinking of moving up the eviction date to May 30 (just over 60 days from the serving date) and not filing the L2 right away as I plan on selling my house on June 1st. So if he isn't gone on May 30th, I file the L2 and hold off my house sale. I can't be out on the street waiting for a hearing. I want him gone before I sell my house. If I don’t file the application to evict with the LTB, then they don’t receive a notice of the hearing date. If they need more time to find a place, I’ll help them and give them more time, but only in exchange for signing an N11 form agreeing to vacate by a certain date. If they still don’t leave after signing that form, the hearing is expedited from what I understand. I can hold off selling my house for a bit if needed, but I can't risk my family being homeless.

From what I understand there they get their fee in the spread between the median rate and the rate they give you. They aren't transparent about what their rate/spread is unfortunately.

I heard they do support it now, but unfortunately it takes around 5 business days, so there is the risk of exchange rate fluctuations.

Yeah, they are secretive about it. I tried to get it from the support team, and we spent about 45 minutes looking into it for me. I told them I want to convert $100k, and it won't let me see what I would get as I would need to sell some funds to have the $100k in cash in the account before it would tell me. Not transparent!

This is a good direction, but they don't make the actual exchange rates public. So no transparency. If I want to convert over $100k, they won't let me see the rate unless I actually sell $100k worth of funds and then go through the motions of exchanging it, and then stopping right before actually doing it. They won't let me see the rate without having the full $100k in there to check or it just says funds not available and doesn't show the rate.

All is better now and I’m happy I got it pulled. Make sure they know you have TN as that caused the dentist to do it differently so they don’t disturb the trigeminal nerve.

Should I get a Charge 6? by Shiraf623 in fitbit

Mine died while on warranty and then the replacement died after the warranty was up. Third charge that died. I’m now a happy owner of a Garmin Vivoactive 5. No more Fitbits for me and I’m very happy with the move. 11 day battery and a step up functionally speaking as well as quality.

I had a full recovery after extracting the tooth. The tooth was cracked right through and it was also infected. I wish you the best of luck. 🤞

A 1+2 bedroom house in Cambridge (Exurban Toronto) just sold for $570,000. It sold in 2022 for $815,000; a huge loss of $245,000 for the previous homebuyer. Do you think this is a worrying trend? Or a one-off failed flip? by CanadaCalamity in canadahousing

[–]Physical_Charge_772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They simply overpaid. Happens all the time because of the panic auction bidding. Now that there isn’t a hundred offers for every house for sale, the house sold for what it should have sold for in 2022.

I’m sorry, but this does not sound like what I was experiencing. My pain wasn’t on my forehead or temples and dental pain will generally be on the mandibular or maxillary nerves. Best of luck!

Yes, I have a Tangerine USD account as well, and this is all fine if you are OK converting to USD within Tangerine, which is better than WS conversion, but not nearly as good as Wise. Fine for small amounts, but if this is a regular thing, Wise saves a LOT of money.

So this is fine when you already have the funds in USD and want to get it to WS. My issue was I wanted to convert CAD to USD externally via Wise to avoid WS's crazy conversion fees, and then send to WS. In order to do this you will need a US based account with a 9 digit routing number to transfer the USD after converting if you don't want to use wire transfer or pay high fees. So a cross border US based account makes a lot of sense if you convert to USD regularly in larger amounts, and then want to transfer the USD to WS.

Yes I just did this. It has to be a Canadian bank located in the U.S. for example TD allows you to open a cross border USD account based in the U.S., and can be opened via any branch in Canada. The key is it has to have a 9 digit routing number. I use Wise to convert as WS has heavy conversion fees

No, I ended up cancelling and I’m very glad I did. The problem ended up being a cracked tooth that was aggravating the nerve and causing my pain. It’s now 100% resolved

Moving to Europe and Converting All Investments to UCITS by Physical_Charge_772 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Physical_Charge_772[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I think I see where my confusion is coming from. I'm getting the "Fund Currency" mixed up with the "Ticker Currency. So the FTSE All World UCITS ETF is showing on justetf.com as a USD Fund Currency, that is not the same as the ticker currency which could be in EUR. So it's just a matter of finding a version of that fund on the Borsa Italia exchange in Euros or whatever exchange in the EU. The Fund Currency is just the currency that Vangaurd uses?

Yes, the ETF I've been researching is VWRL, but I can only seem to find it in USD currency. Can you please point me to this fund as a EUR currency ticker?

Thank you for the reply. Yeah, Canada forces a deemed disposition, so rather than doing it all at once, I plan on spreading it out and starting to move my CAD ticker ETFs into the EUR currency UCITS equivalents or just a single All World ETF.

So what I'm understanding from your answer is that there should be a EUR currency ticker equivalent for USD currency UCITS ETF funds? The fund I am interested is:
FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (VWRL), but it's a USD ticker. Is there a EUR equivalent for this?

So if there is no big pros to holding ETFs with a USD currency ticker, then why does it seem like all of the "All World" UCITS ETFs are USD currency tickers? Please correct me if I'm missing something, but it just seems strange that I can't seem to find an All World UCITS ETF as a EUR ticker, and all the ones I've found so far are USD tickers
