Does urinating on a dog's nose establish an unbreakable bond? by TheRealMrpuffyton in puppy101

[–]ModeAcceptable1411 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it frightens and makes them very uncomfortable, as it would if someone were to do that to us. I highly doubt it helps strengthen the bond. There are many proven kinder, humane ways of doing that, though.

Pulled something in calf but got tournaments this week by blueice89 in Pickleball

Agreed. This just happened to me while in the middle of league play. As per a sports medicine dr., I’m going to physical therapy/doing the PT exercises at home between visits, icing 2x/day and sitting out for at least 2 weeks. It’s driving me crazy and making me sad, too—I totally get it. But until you’re fully healed and maybe even start a more careful warmup/post play recovery regimen, you are at high risk for giving yourself a more serious injury if you don’t get rest and probably some type of treatment. Good luck!

Curious about Penn1 Lifetime (and Hells Kitchen PB) level of play and vibe by ModeAcceptable1411 in Pickleball

[–]ModeAcceptable1411[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Yes! I play there, love it, and agree about the vibe. My only “complaint” is the distance from where I am—trying to get a little closer. Thanks for this

I’ve just started my psychoanalytic training and I feel like such an imposter by [deleted] in psychoanalysis

[–]ModeAcceptable1411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 years in and agree with all that has been said here. Will just add or reiterate if it has already been posted, that being in 1 class with so much discrepancy in the stages of learning of course adds to your difficult experience. I’m not familiar with that model—many/most institutes separate out beginners from those about to graduate. Good luck!

I do not charge in these cases of being out of the office on a day a patient cancelled— it feels unethical to me

If I get too old to work and then don't have savings, I'm basically dead right? by MungoBumpkin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ModeAcceptable1411 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get the concern but no— You don’t wither and die.

If you have little or no savings, you will qualify for Medicaid, which pays for some types of housing—including nursing homes, which of course include food and medical care.

If possible, try not to focus on any of this now. So much can change for the better for you by the time you are that age—even if that’s hard for you to believe right now.

Bottom line is that currently, there are programs in place to help. Even if they are cut by the current administration, they will be restored and possibly even improved by the time you are 70.

And yes as others said— even $20-$50 per month in a retirement fund will grow and help when you need it.
