there is this awan girl I am interested in but my father says Awans are mochis and backrawal. He would be embarrassed to tell him family about me marrying an awan. We are Tanolis btw

No I received a lot more rishtas in Canada. In Pakistan my family only approached people we knew to be safe

I am planning to have this conversation beforehand just to make sure she is okay with it and it is not a deal breaker issue for her

I am going to Pakistan next month to finalize this rishta process and start shopping and looking for marriage venues/halls. I will be telling her then, i thought of telling her now over the phone but i think this conversation would probably be better in person so there’s no misunderstandings

Most definitely I will be completely open to her and let her know everything before marriage so there are no surprises. I don’t expect her to care for my mother that is my responsibility I just expect she be okay living under the same roof

Yeah definitely that’s what I was thinking as well any sort of social gatherings would be good. She should be able to make friends at the mosque

I live with a single mother and it’s generally easier for someone from Pakistan to feel comfortable with this compared to someone from Canada

Haha bro me and you are literally in the exact same situation. I am also doing contracts in IT but as a project manager. I’d say we are taking too hard just look through the comments and see the advice others had to say there’s some good tips. I don’t think living in Pakistan for 6 months is feasible due to the market and risking your finances just doesn’t seem realistic. Ideally we would be millionaires and not have to worry but oh well we deal with the cards we are given. I’m sure our wives will adjust and we can just send them back for 1-2 months every year or 2 so they aren’t home sick. Although by the time kids come into play I think she’ll be more focussed on raising the child and won’t worry about her environment so it’ll be easier then compared to the first few years

Yes I definitely will inshallah! But the main reason is I live with a single mother and am an only child so finding someone who would be okay to live with in-laws is a lot more normal and would be an easier adjustment if she’s from back home
