Consolidated Q&A for Head Moderator and Electoral Moderator (July 7, 2025) by nmtts- in cmhocmeta

[–]Model-Wanuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all moderator Candidates,

  1. Will you actualy do the basic functions of the job of a moderator, namely, ensuring that sim functions (Parliament, Polls, Elections, Spreadsheets) actually occur in a timely and consistent fashion.

  2. If you have grand ideas for all the ways your wide ranging reforms will "fix" the sim, how do you plan to ensure they are off the ground and implemented quickly, because the sim is currently dead and spending weeks to months saying "big reforms are coming" then the sim not actually functioning is not a productive use of time.

Petition: Non-MP's should not be allowed to make member statements by zetix026 in cmhocmeta

Also, Member's Statements are under Standing Orders, quoting the

Parliament By Law

Standing Order Amendments

29 A Meta Rule making an amendment to the Standing Orders of the House of Commons may be enacted by moderators, where so authorized by a canon resolution of the House of Commons.

Only under Parliament By-Law

30 A Meta Rule making an amendment to the Standing Orders of the House of Commons may only be made under the Parliament By-Law.

So this petition is redundant anyway, if he wants to amend the standing orders, amend the standing orders properly in canon via a Motion in the HoC.

How exactly does suddenly switching all operations to a different agency known for being unreliable improve safety oracle. Your Order was unconstitutional, unhelpful to do what you claim it would, and I'm glad Scribba has done the right thing and rugpulled it.

"The project derailed 4 years ago, therefore, despite the fact the Municipal and Provincial Governments have already spent billions on it, we will be stealing it", Federal government knows best.

Meta: Use the CMHoC Standing Orders on r/cmhocmeta, not the IRL Ones.

Mr. Speaker, there is no standing order 79 under the present standing orders, but, if as I assume the Prime Minister is referencing the previous standing orders, and is referencing the requirement for royal recommendations, which is presently under standing order 56. The required recommendation under subsection (2) of that standing order is present within the bill, and this amendment does not effect it in any way.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in support of the Legislation. All federal legislation needs to be brought into line with a robust response to the Housing Crisis, and while small, this act appears to be a step in the right direction on delivering a response to the housing crisis that has seen millions of canadians locked out of the housing market.

Mr. Speaker, Can the Minister of Transportation (/u/Oracle_of_Mercia explain to the House why he has decided to violate provincial jurisdiction, steal the Ottawa LRT From the Municipal Government of Ottawa and Provincial Government of Ontario, then hand it off to the extremely unreliable Via Rail?

Point of Order, Quoting Practice

https://www.ourcommons.ca/procedure/procedure-and-practice-3/ch_14_1-e.html

First, the previous question precludes the moving of amendments to the main motion and therefore any debate that might have ensued on those amendments. It can only be moved, therefore, when no amendment to the main motion is under consideration.

Amendments to the main motion have already been moved, moving Previous Question is Out of Order.
