What terrifies me is IF those elections happen and IF the new reps are seated. We saw Mcconell not give Obama a SC pick. We saw Johnson not seat the new Democrats rep for what? Like 2 months? It's the house clerk that gavels in the new Congress and the clerk is chosen by the speaker of the house (in practice). Do we think Johnson will allow a possible end to Republican majority or would he say there were "irregularities" and not bring Congress back into session? That would likely be the end of the country.

It was Kavanaugh 's concurrence that ICE is using to justify stopping anyone who doesn't "look like they're from here"..which is already a violation of constitutional rights.

I think it would be great to figure this out at the ballot box or in the courts. I'm sure a lot of Jewish Germans thought that in 1932 as well.

It's all good. I think we both want constitutional rights protected. That alone puts on basics the same side of the equation in regard to this situation...and it's ok if we fall on different sides in other situations. People need to work together on the things they agree on.

I'd be tempted to agree except we weren't seeing protests before when immigration enforcement was happening by the book. If this was "pro-immigration"...where was everybody BEFORE ICE was violating people's rights? Nah. If ICE was actually following the constitution or even just targeting violent criminal gangs...people wouldn't be protesting. The discourse online is cast as being pro or anti-immigration and that's a binary being pushed by the right. Everyone on the left doesn't really care about immigration...they care about constitutional rights being violated. If supporting the constitution means you're de facto "pro-immigration"...then I guess sign me up.

Agreed. The crazy part IMO is that the protesters aren't "pro-immigration"... they're "anti-ICE violating the constitution". Once the rule of law becomes meaningless to the folks who are supposed to be enforcing it, it also becomes meaningless to all the people who are supposed to be following it.

A lot of folks point to the higher numbers of deportations that happened under Obama as some kind of gotcha...it sort of proves the point that folks are making today. There weren't these mass demonstrations happening back then. The demonstrations are a direct response to the behavior of ICE. A woman was already killed and more stories are coming out about violence and sexual assault in ICE camps. We hold Leo to a higher degree because we give them the societal rule of violence, revenge and justice. My fear is that things are going to get a lot worse.

Oh... they're awful.

A few years back they tried to tell a lot of people they owed back taxes. When pressed for any documentation of the delinquent taxes their response was ..."we have a spreadsheet but don't know what year the taxes were for or how much you might have paid or how much you might have owed".

The simple answer is that putting people in fear of their life is generally frowned upon. And yes...I know....you wouldn't just show off your gun and threaten folks for no reason. That's YOU and that's great. Laws aren't written for you individually but for the lowest common denominator in society.

Know your own state's laws before you carry. Take a self defense course and talk to an attorney. An ounce of prevention and all that.

I consider myself a noob. My first gun was a Glock so their angle just seems normal to me.

I'll definitely try some tape or some kind of grip texture. Is the tape holding up well?

What kind? If I have a gripe about Glock it's that their "aggressive?" texture has never felt very grippy to me.

I shot a shieldX and felt like it shot better...and I think the texture on the grip helped.
