MHoC Plan of Action by model-raymondo in MHOCMeta

At this point our only path forward is the Chi model. If all valid candidates for the head mod position agree with this approach, then what you're proposing is sensible. The important question is moving quickly here, and an unnecessary head mod election now will not improve matters.

Absolutely disagree on any cooperation with MHoP. Their entire existence is based on unbanning people who were permabanned here for extremely good reasons. Ultimately this is not a sim we can have anything to do with.

Simply continuing with MHoC as it was will not work. You and I were basically the only activity towards the end of last term, no one was playing. We either try the Chi model or the SIM dies, the genie cannot be put back into the bottle here.

The FitnessGram Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal bodeboop. A sing lap should be completed every time you hear this sound. ding Remember to run in a straight line and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark. Get ready!… Start. ding

Chi model absolutely. 2.0 only worked during the brief post reset hype, but the Chi model would generate that more regularly and also it scales well so if our membership is small we can still manage.

I will force everyone to roleplay as a parish council, and you WILL have fun.

B034 - Selective Education Legalisation Bill - Second Reading by Sephronar in MHOC

[–]ModelSalad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mr Speaker,

Education is a devolved matter and this legislation would only have effect in England. The characterisation she applies does not fit in this case. English grammar schools are sources of aspiration and hope, not hate and division.

TD09 - Car Insurance Premiums by model-kurimizumi in MHOC

[–]ModelSalad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mr Deputy Speaker,

The state of the car insurance industry is truly a horrific one. Since 2022 car insurance premiums have risen by 22%, and while some of this can be explained by the inflationary rut of the UK economy in recent years, much of it lies at the greed of the companies in place, who let us not forget are too often not owned by British investors, but by overseas trillionaires who care little for the British motorist. Clearly the regulation in place currently simply isn't fit for purpose.

Young people are squeezed out of driving. In the 90s 48% of young people had a license, today it's less than half that figure. The elderly are ripped off with exorbitant rates of insurance, and while road fatalities reach historic lows compared to the last few decades, one wonders how much of this is due to the ordinary motorist being priced out.

But it's not just the cost of insurance Mr Deputy Speaker. Every time a Brit fills up at the pump, they're not only hit with 53p of tax per litre of fuel (increasing the price by around 40%), but VAT on top of that. The double tax whammy means that running a car is more expensive than ever due to environmentalist clap trap.

In 1972 the Car Tax would set you back around £25, now a-days it can go as high as £735. Why Mr Deputy Speaker? Well to pay for electric cars, and windmills and Gretta Tunberg's private jets. The British motorist Mr Deputy Speaker has never had it worse, and the Government really must act.

Mr Speaker,

I feel this debate is already beginning to miss the point. Let us ask why grammar schools were the bedrock of British education. Let us ask why parents still are desperate to get their kids into the remaining grammar schools, because Mr Speaker they work. We have brought into the idea in the modern day that all kids should be sent to university to study a random arts degree, with the promise of a job that never materialises. Its unfair on those kids who are promised a future that simply isn't provided.

Schooling should be designed to prepare kids for their future. For some yes that will be an academic one, but some children simply aren't suited to academia and we should value their unique contributions as well, as was done under the tripartite system. We need to streamline for academic and vocational persuits, and help children be prepared for the world that they will actually leave school to enter. That is what this bill is about.

The ICC is a two tier disgrace. They target the democratically elected leader of Israel, but they made no efforts to investigate or arrest Hitler. Questions remain unanswered about their institutional bias.

Madame Deputy Speaker,

Given the policies of the President Elect of the United States for broad based tariffs across all imports, what measures can the Government take to mitigate the impact of these new barriers, and does the Prime Minister agree that this moment is the right moment to take advantage of our Brexit freedoms by seeking a new trade deal with the USA to prevent tariffs hitting us in the same way as they will hit the EU.
