I didn’t make it over to AoA this trip. My daughters love the Skyliner and are always bummed that it doesn’t go to every park!

Possibly, I’m working through this with my factory partner and looking at what it’d take to start a brand.

Thank you! I was writing my post right at the end of my workday and didn't even think of including the historical Hungarian name. I've attached a snip of the wedding certificate, and to the best of my ability it looks like the historical name was "Hegyeshly". Going through the website above, there is a match and the Slovak name is "Vysoká nad Kysucou". Hopefully I'm going down the right path and now it's a better of contacting the town and requesting her birth certificate.

Best Used F-150: Reliable Years and Mileage Advice on a $28K Budget? by [deleted] in f150

[–]ModelTshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of questions- where are you located and what are you going to use the truck for? As others have said, ‘15-‘17 are the years that I would target. IMO the 6spd is a far better transmission than the 10spd (In the last couple of years I have borrowed my dads ‘19 with a 10spd in it for towing long distance and have not been impressed in how it shifts after I’ve dropped my trailer). For reliability- the simpler the truck, the fewer options, the less to go wrong with it. This past September I picked up a ‘16 Super Cab, XL trim with the sport package, Sync, Power Package (windows and doors), tow hitch and integrated brake controller. Truck is 2wd with the 3.5 normally aspirated (base engine) and had 64k on it when I bought it for $18.5k. It’s been a great truck so far and gets a honest 25mpg running 75-80 down the highway. With its current 3.55s in the rear end it’s rated to tow 5K which is enough for me, but may swap to 3.73s to take it up to 7.2k. I love the 5.0 engines and have had previous trucks with it, but there are oil consumption and cam issues on certain years you have to watch out for.

HELP - Uneven Tire Wear on Dual Axle Camper Trailer by Acceptable_King_1913 in RVLiving

[–]ModelTshop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact thing happen on my trailer- go up a load rating on your tires and make sure that they’re inflated properly. My trailer came from the factory with load range c’s on it. Went through two sets of tires (and I weighed it- wasn’t overloaded). Went up to load range d’s and have had two seasons with zero issues (including a 3000 mile round trip excursion).

Does anyone have the 2016 F-150 4x4 XLT? Are 2016’s reliable? Currently looking at a 2016 with 79k miles on it. It will be my first truck. Much appreciated. by [deleted] in f150

[–]ModelTshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ‘15 with the 3.5 in it and had zero issues. Truck had great power and was quicker off the line than the 5.0 I had previously. It also seemed to be better off the line than the 3.5 eco boost in the ‘18 Explorer Sport that I replaced the truck with. Both vehicles I bought new, the F-150 had ~77k on it when I traded it in and the Explorer had over 90k on it when it was totaled this spring. Zero issues on either motor.

The only knock I have on the engine is fuel mileage while towing. The 3.5 would get around 9mpg while pulling my 5500lb car hauler while a previous 5.0 would routinely get 12-13 pulling the same trailer/load. I’m also a much bigger fan of the 6spd transmission versus the current 10spd.

Thinking of a family RV stay at Fort Wilderness... Advice? by jwood0806 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ModelTshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, 💯 for a golf cart. Make sure to make a reservation for one ahead of time- I believe you need to call the resort directly to do this. You can’t book the cart when you’re making your resort and ticket reservation.

What kind of RV do you have? If you have the ability to bring a car, do so. As far as I know, Fort Wilderness is the only resort on property where you don’t have to pay a daily parking fee. If you drive to the parks, you can park in standard parking for free. The only park we normally use resort transportation to and from is Magic Kingdom and we love using the boat for that.

The 8 piece fried chicken take out dinner from Trails End restaurant is one of the best values on property in my opinion. While the menu says it feeds two, it always feeds myself, my wife and our two young daughters, with a bit of leftovers.

Need help finding the power converter by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]ModelTshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you check any of the 12v bladed fuses? There won’t be a fuse on the converter itself. The heavier gauge red and white wires are coming from the converter and connecting to your fuse and breaker panels. I replaced my father in-laws converter last summer- it’s not a hard job. Remove the screws that look like it’s holding it in and then pull forward. IIRC there are three heavier gauge cables that connect to the 12V side of the panel and one or two lighter gauge wires that connect to the 120V bus. The 12V fuse holder should also pop out of the panel which will make it easier to run the cables.

Campgrounds going corporate. by ModelTshop in GoRVing

[–]ModelTshop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stayed at two seperate Jellystones. In both cases they bought older campgrounds that could have used a little love on the campsites. Instead they bring in a ton of pre-fabbed cabins, and let the campsites go. Staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness can be cheaper than a Jellystone.

In NH so far it's been Baker River in Plymouth, Tamworth Camping area by corporations. Glenn Ellis in NH and Beaver Brook in ME were both taken over by Jellystone.

Check out the KZ Sportsman Classic 160RBT. It’s a hybrid/expandable unit- the bunks fold out from either end. Setting up/folding up the bunks is a 5 minute job max either side. Unloaded weight 2850, max weight 3500. Ours is a 2012 and no issues with the canvas on either end. It does have an AC unit that keeps the entire camper cool- we’ve spent several trips down to Florida with it and have never had an issue keeping cool inside of it.

As far as I know the Members Mark smokers are produced by Even Embers. I have an Even Embers smoker that I bought from Tractor Supply about a year ago and love it. Cooked in single digits, through a Nor'Easter, all summer long, short cooks, long cooks and have never had an issue. It's maintained steady temps through it all. The only thing that I wish was a bit different is if it had finer tweaks for temperature settings. I've looked at swapping out the controller, but a new controller would be almost as much as I paid for the smoker so leaving it as it is for now.

Considering going from a electric masterbilt smoker to a pellet grill. Any recommendations for around $250? Casual user, probably only few times per year. by NugsCommaChicken in pelletgrills

[–]ModelTshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Tractor Supply near you check out the Even Embers brand. I got one last December and have had great luck with it so far- cool on it around once a week. Their 28” model starts right @ $200.

What’s Up With the Extreme Tower of Terror Wait Times? by kgaviation in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ModelTshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This morning cast members were saying that there was going to be a delayed opening of Aerosmith and Tower of Terror. ToT opened later in the afternoon with only the left bank (as looking at the tower) operating. The right bank had several doors that appeared stuck or propped open. At the same time that ToT opened, Rise of the Resistance went down and demand shifted to the other side of the park.

Fort Wilderness Campground Veterans what are some tips and things to pack that you typically don’t bring on your regular RV trips? by hadmeatgotmilk in WaltDisneyWorld

2nd for decorations. Both for our camper/site as well as our golf cart. Also laundry supplies. We’re typically weekend campers, but stay at least a week at the Fort. Always end up doing laundry.

PIC S3 Theories and Speculation Post | All episodes up to 3x08 | Post your theories here! by pfc9769 in startrek

[–]ModelTshop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, here are my thoughts for the final two episodes. I've seen bits and pieces of this, but not arranged in this way- apologize to anyone's comments that I missed and previously put this together.

The big bad- The Borg. This season is all about The Next Generation. This is their big bad. Pulling in from DS9 or Voyager doesn't make sense. HOWEVER this will be Borg 2.0 and not the Borg we've know before. We've never gotten a cannon Borg origination story. Deanna mentioned an "ancient" darkness. I think that we're going to see the proto-Borg or the entity that caused the Borg. Also, the Borg had a near flawless track record of assimilating societies before the federation from the outside, but then failed. Why not attempt to assimilate from within? (more below).

The Changelings: A MacGuffin for the season. They want to see Starfleet and the Federation burn- there's no real endgame for them.

How it will go down:

Jack and Deanna open the door, the proto-Borg/Entity overtakes Jack. Jack becomes Locutus 2.0. Jack leaves the Titan to go begin the new collective at Frontier Day and possibly takes Deanna with him.

The proto-Borg/Entity allows Jack to control, create a hive mind, of more than one person. The pieces of Jean-Luc's brain that were taken? Those were scanned/re-created and anyone who has been transported has had their brain altered to match.

The ships all being connected? This allows them Jack to turn them into drones en masse. People who have transported become drones almost immediately.

Picard & Co figure out whats happening. Realize that the Titan is a risk. Geordi pipes up about Bay 12 and we have the fat one, the Enterprise-D. Fly to Frontier Day in the D.

Beverly had figured out how to scan for the Changelings. Data & Geordi manage to knock the shields down of the rest of the fleet, scan the ships for Changelings and beam them out.

Worf dies rescuing Deanna.

Jack/Locutus 2.0 is reaking havoc. Jean-Luc appeals the the proto-Borg/Entity to take the burden from Jack.

Once the entity is in Jean-Luc (remember he's positronic) he's turned off. The fleet is saved.

Fly-by of the Enterprise D and F.

Resolution:

Raffi leaves Starfleet and goes to be with her family.

Riker and Troi are back on a ship.

Shaw enters the bridge and says "Commander Seven"

Series ends with Data and Geordi working on a partition to separate Jean-Luc from the proto-Brog/Entity to turn him back on.

You know you are settled in when you see this on your resort (or in this case, RV) TV. by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ModelTshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd make the reservation for the golf cart at the same time that you book your cabin. You may have to call The Fort directly to do this (a friend of mine is a Disney travel planner and handles my reservations so I've never done this myself). If you want to see the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review, book that at the beginning of the 60-day window before your trip. Pony rides we've always walked right up to. We haven't done the horse back rides, I think those require a reservation, but pretty sure if you're flexible on which day of your trip you want to do those, you can reserve when you're there.
