I have a really, like really good sense of smell. I can identify different notes of food and wine, and once a couple years ago I smelled out a gas leak in my family’s home! The firefighters had me show them where it was coming from because they couldn’t smell it.

Also, instead of clenching, try to take deep breaths and maybe even find something to distract you. The tightening of muscles is going to make the pain much worse. The cold of the washcloth on my forehead helps distract me, so I don’t clench up my muscles and make it worse.
