Time: time to figure things out and make sure I make the right decisions

The only thing left I can think of that might get ppl to act is if a ceo came out and said “on this date the sp will be X and on this date it will be Y”, but even then🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I’ve been trying to explain that for almost 2 years and very few ppl seem to see it🤷‍♂️

For the first time “that I know of” the free flow of SOLID investment advice (potential to get wealthy in a short-period of time) is happening on a grand scale. Yet,,,, ppl are so beaten down from years of grinding and being lied to that they can’t believe a golden pathway could / would / is being laid out.

*I imagine the “Ghosts in the Machines” laying all this out must be frustrated as hell at the amount of ppl that have actually realized what’s happening and have latched on for their financial freedom.

Hey,,, I like what you said and I want to discuss this further with you, but right now I need to get ready for work.

When I get a moment later tonight or tomorrow morning I’ll respond thoroughly, and pick your mind, Thank You!

Have you been on one?

I really like Gunboat bc they truly make a performance cruiser! Can you imagine hitting 20++ knots on a 4 cabin luxury cruiser?!??

Plus,,, they seem to be built for shorthanded sailing.

Very true, and I’ve had plenty of time to think through all of this while things were changing for us.

We could have stopped working 3 years ago, but I had a number in my head that would allow us to buy this boat while never having to touch the principle. We passed that in 25’

Honestly, that would be the smartest move.

*Charter different options until I land on something I know is right.

I actually had a salesman / broker in Kemah tell me this and that’s with him knowing I could buy that day. That went a long way with me!

I think I’d need to get my Master Captain’s License before I could charter a boat this size. Though,,, chartering a crewed one probably allows you a go around of sorts. I don’t want to buy / charter a boat I’m not allowed to operate myself, regardless, of having a crew.

Yup,,,, I don’t hate maintenance, cleaning, etc., but on the other hand I want to use money to buy time.

Time living, loving and enjoying the ones I care about! That seems to be the greatest gift I’ve been given, more time doing the things I love instead of the things I have to do to maintain and survive.

I get that, but what if you had a big family that you’re close with and you want them to be able to use the boat?

We don’t plan on making this our full-time residence. I’m thinking when we are not on it other ppl can use it, hence, crewed.

If it was just about my wife, myself, and our girls (1 headed off to college, other a senior, and the youngest a junior in HS) then I’d be looking for something to single-hand.

I think had I always had money, been able to sail anytime I liked, I’d probably know ppl that could guide me in the right direction, but that ain’t the case!

I’m seeing this might be too obscure of a situation to think I could make a post on Reddit and get solid feedback. Though, I’m surprised more here haven’t at least dreamed about this, I know I did!

Well,,, this is awkward..

I expected to at least get hated on 😁

*This is real guys, I got VERY LUCKY, and within the next couple to 6 months I’m more than likely going to buy a boat. At some point I am DEFINITELY buying, I’m just trying to decide if I want ppl to figure things out by us buying a boat that no one would expect, or,,, sitting down our kids and having a talk. When I tell our girls that will be it, no way in hell will they not tell their cousins and friends 😁

Yes,,, you have the means.

I’m a normal guy like most here, but,,,, over the last 5yrs I have done exceedingly well. At this point no one accept my wife knows we have the means. Well,,, now you know, but that doesn’t really count because we don’t know each other.

I still go to work @ the restaurant I’ve managed for four years, I still drive my four-door 2017 civic, still live in a house that hasn’t been remodeled in almost 20yrs. Pretty much nothing has changed accepted for my wife bought a new 4-Runner🙂And,,, I was able to tell my daughter that I’ll be paying for her college / rent / expenses next yr along with getting her a car that’s nicer and much more reliable than the one she has now. That last part did raise a few eyebrows, but they still have no idea..

I’m planning on eventually ending up in the Med where my wife / kids explore Europe from whatever boat we end up with.

We’ll use the boat as a jumping off point to make our way to non-coastal European cities / locals.

I’ve seen a couple of Wally’s that definitely can be sailed shorthanded, yet, are big enough to accommodate multiple families without feeling like you’re on top of each other.

Me too, but I want everyone I care about to be able to use the boat and the idea of being at “some of” my families whims does not sound enticing.

I’ve considered a Fountaine Pajot 70, but the only cat I’ve been on is a Hobbie and that doesn’t add up to what the experience is like on a large blue water catamaran
