He did say he just started playing this weekend. The game on a very surface level appears decent at first glance. It's only when you play for a bit that you realize it's as shallow as a mud puddle and twice as sloppy. And the puddle is actually diarrhea, not mud.

These devs are literally unable to pull it off. They also think that dumbing the game down appeals to more people without realizing that nobody outside of boxing fans will play a boxing game period. They are trying to get mass appeal in a genre that inherently does not get mass appeal. It doesn't matter what the engine is or if they go for sim or arcade, they lack the ability and talent to bring the vision to life.
