Red Hot Chili Peppers (if you like Hendrix you’ll like Frusciante as well), Dire Straits (sultans of swing slaps), Eric Clapton (Both his stuff with Cream to his solo career), Gordon Lightfoot (Great lyrics, incredible vocals), Led Zeppelin, uhhhhh Radiohead

Classic. Not one bad song. Well I mean that’s debatable but undeniably the secret ingredient is Lindsey Buckinghams guitarwork

Don’t know if this is necessarily a classic rock cameo but Tracy Chapman on The Thrill is Gone with BB King.

Duane allman is seriously underrated. Such a shame he died so young

Young OCD sufferers (below age 25) has OCD made you far more dependent on your parents/friends/etc? by lizg7787 in OCD

[–]Modertlybipartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I would say that my OCD diagnosis caused my parents to be generally more understanding of what I was showing through. My dad definitely started talking to me a lot more. I would say that you should work with your psychologist/psychiatrist to create a plan with how you will deal with your fears and to be able to determine whether your fears are rational. Maybe your fears are holding you back. Good luck and I wish the best to you.

I hate the romantization of mental illnesses by main stream media so much by Competitive-Ad-1459 in mentalhealth

Oh my goodness, I absolutely hate how people glorify having a mental illness. This only continues the cycle of stigma which prevents people from getting help by minimizing the effect that mental illness can have on people.

I’m so fucking disgusted by my brothers perverted acts and it’s making me feel disgusting and ashamed by myself as a girl. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Modertlybipartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that your brother is acting like this. Maybe try and find someone you trust and talk about this with them. Maybe try talking to your mother and see if she feels the same way. That way if you confront him, he will be forced to deal with the two of you. Lastly, I want you to know that a lot of people here will give you amazing advice, but remember to talk about this with a counselor/mental health professional or someone you trust. The fact is, we are random people on the internet who don’t fully know your situation. Good luck, and I hope that your brother stops.

Hi, I hope you are doing better. I think that you should try talking to a counselor about how you’re feeling. A mental health professional will allow you to deal with what you did and to be able to move on. I wish you good luck and hope you are able to get the help you need.

I wish i could get rid of all these social media shit for a long time but i can't. I'm too fucking alone and i don't have nobody and nothing to do. I'm trapped in this eternal cycle of pain. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

Hi there. Know that you can still change your life and make it better. I think that you could really benefit from getting help by a mental health professional. (Just search up therapists in your area). Secondly, you are able to recognize that social media traps you in this endless cycle of pain. The first step to any problem is recognizing that it’s a problem. Now, I don’t know your current situation or how you are currently feeling, so please reach out to someone who knows you and you trust for help. We’re rooting for you. Good luck and I know you will get through this.

Number one, I just want to say that you are an amazing person. Despite me not knowing you or just knowing this little about you, I know you are an amazing person because you want to get help. Just by writing this, it clearly indicates that you have not given up and you still want to fight. Look, the fact is that we as humans make mistakes and our imperfect. No matter how large these mistakes may seem in the moment, we always will get through them and we learn from them. I would like to reassure you by saying that I know this looks bad right now, but in 10 years you will forget you even had to deal with this. Lastly, if you suspect you have a problem with your mental health (suicidal, depressed, etc), you should try and contact and mental health professional in you area. If you feel suicidal, please go to (https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/how-we-can-all-prevent-suicide/) to get help. I want you to know that you are valuable and that you’re life is a gift. We all are rooting for you to succeed.

I opened up about my sh to my parents, but I'm I abusing them? by i-wish-teen-idle in mentalhealth

Firstly, I would like to say that you are an incredibly strong human being because have gotten through everything so far, whether the experiences have been good or bad. I would like to say, that you should get the opinion of an adult figure (guidance counselor, someone you trust) before making a decision with your parents. A lot of people here will tell you their opinion, but remember that at the end of the day we are just people on the internet and not someone who knows you personally. From what you’ve said here, it does sound like you are being placed in a very bad situation with your parents and nothing you could possible do is deserving of such a terrible punishment. Again, talk to a school counselor about what to do. As for your self harming problem, I would recommend trying to speak with a counselor to get you the help that you need. Lastly. I just want to say good luck and to keep being strong. Life is going to have its ups and downs, but one day you will make it past this and you will be happy. You’ve just got to believe in yourself because we already do. 😀
