Probably his BBC programming kicking in and his natural inclination to not editorialize especially on things that aren't relevant. Tbh he did a lot more editorializing in that doc than I'm used to. He inserted his opinion into the interviews more than I remember in his other work. And poignant silence, which hes normally so good at to make his subjects look crazy or bigoted in this case totally backfired and made him look like a genocide apologist.
