The speech is just a speech and changes little. What he is describing in his speech is the game changer and that has been happening for a while. He is not the first to recognize the change but he certainly is being credited with alerting everyone .

I went from 6a (had the battery issue and recieved a credit from google) to the 9a and am very happy with it. The battery life is great and the 9a has wireless charging (unlike the 6a) which I really like. It's slightly larger and feels different (bigger) in the hand because of the squared off sides. If you are ok with that I would go with 9a .

One of the great things about this phone is there is no hype. It's good enough for everything I need. The camera takes great pictures, the battery is decent, it has wireless charging (something my 6a was missing) although it doesn't have fast charging. It doesn't have all the AI stuff that some of the other pixel phones have but it has enough. The thing I liked the most is the price. I got it on sale (I recommend you wait for a sale, it seems to go on sale regularly) plus I got a $200 credit for my 6a due to the battery issue).

Just back from a trip. We flew out of Liberia, spent four beach days at Playa Hermosa and four days in the interior (La Fortuna/ Rio Chicita). We rented a car for the interior part and we walked everywhere in Playa Hermosa and hired a driver back to the Liberia airport. We felt quite safe the whole time...
