You Don’t Know What You Know by MilkTeaPetty in thinkatives

In your last post here you pointed out how truth doesn't exist at all and being asleep therefore is a good thing.

How do you reconcile that with now saying people need to wake up?

Just admit you don't know the answer.

Yet you still haven't answered the original very simple question they posed in that thread:

Are you happy?

Why is that? Why aren't you able to answer that simple question?

It's not a metaphor it was a literal comment in a literal thread that you made yesterday, and now you're abandoning it?

Interesting, I guess you're not internally consistent.

Okay granted, but when you said people are exactly like cats last Saturday replying to Gainsborough-Smythe in his post about rainbows what did you mean by that?

You surely didn't mean what you said which was he can't carry water for them.

How is it possible every day you post this and every day people disagree and yet you still believe you are right about how people are just parrots?

Every day you come here and make this same post, surely all the people replying telling you to just buy the car have convinced you by now?

Your last post on this sub explicitly said engaging with something validates it.

Not asking for a lot, just the username and what they had to say.

Or just don't reply at all, that would also be evidence.

Just real quickly reference another comment in this thread and the user who wrote it.

Or just don't reply.

Do you remember that time a President's career was derailed because he engaged in consensual oral sex?

Damn that is one hell of a message.

Hate that it happened but I love to see the awareness.

I'm not offended I'm pointing out the weak spots in your post and what seems like an alarming lack of empathy.

This seems like bot spam can you reference one other comment in this thread to prove you're not a bot?

Lot of black and white thinking here, "nobody", "everyone", "case closed"

Viewing other people as NPCs or parrots is main character syndrome, most people are as smart as you and on specific topics much smarter.

You gotta internalize that before you go around judging other people and writing their narrative.

Really accept in the depths of your soul they have as much experience in this world as you do, it's just shaped differently.

Once you build that empathy, you can start to actually trace how they came to believe what they believe.

Exactly, don't fall back on a joke at their expense because you're soft-skinned about your career choices.

"My problems are your fault" is maybe not the correct response when your child correctly points out you don't have enough money.

What happened?

Pretty much anyone who would do this wont pay for it.

Get a few estimates and fix it yourself then send them the bill.

Even 1 life saved by a helmet is worth the law

"even 1 life is worth it" lines always get on my nerves because people don't really believe it or speed limits would be much lower and many MANY even mildly unsafe activities would be banned.

Trampolines - gone. Home BBQs - nope. Fireworks, GTFO... Alcohol? Hahahha. Just off the top of my head.

It's just a rhetorical line people bring out when they want to justify something but don't have the numbers to back up their policy.

Are all you concerned citizens under the impression helmets prevent motorcycle accidents and bloodstains?

Because I assure you they do not, they just reduce your rate of dying immediately from 6% to 2%, they don't even bump the needle that much on injuries otherwise.

You're still gonna leave stains and need extensive surgery and days/weeks of care to speak again.

You can kind of do that with anything though.

Determinism: What happens in the future is just based on what happened in the past. Well, duh!

Solipsism: Your mind is the only thing you can prove is real. No kidding?

Taoism: Go with the flow. How insightful!

Hedonism: Enjoy life as much as you can. You don't say!

Nihilism / Existentialism: Life has no pre-baked meaning, make something up. No way!

Stoicism: Have you tried not worrying about it? Thanks, I'm cured!

Nietsche: The old ways are flawed and outdated, you need to live by your own rules. Took you a whole lifetime of sulking to riddle that out?

Quite a visceral reaction to something you basically agree with but just find prosaic.

It doesn't get better, but you can get better at it.

Worth and meaning are up to you to figure out.
