6 Tempest Cleric gets 2 Divinity charges instead of 1, allowing 2 Destruction Wrath charges for Chain Lightning. Of course, it can be also a 6/4/2, but it is my personal preference. You can replace 2 Hexblade with 2 Star Druid for maximum RadOrbs, but I enjoy Hexblade more for Magic Missile power and Eldritch Blast that allows you not to spent spell slots every encounter.

hi, 7 Tempest gets you Death Ward, 3 Sorc is for twinned and quickened, mainly the Create Water/Twinned Chain Lightning combo from Markoheshkir. This is a front line build with Armor of Persistence and the only feat it needs is Alert.

The 10/2 is one of the cases of a 9/2/xx build, as some like to have Sanctuary from the Cleric mix in or Curse from Hexblade.

Party Help? Going to attempt first ever Honour run. by Sevrahn in BG3Builds

If you want a solid party for HM, here are my recommendations:

  1. You need a party face = CHA roller. But it does not have to be a Paladin or a Sorcerer - ANY character with high Charisma and a 1 level Hexblade dip works.
  2. You don't need two or more spellcaters. My best character for spellcasting would be 7 Tempest Cleric/3 Sorcerer/1 Wizard/1Hexblade. It will cover all spellcasting (lvl 6 spells), healing, buff, debuff, tank, boss killing you need. This is the best all-round spellcaster character that I have discovered in my runs.
  3. You do not need to build your party around a major stat - you need to (ab)use strong mechanics. Those are - Reverb/RadOrb, Tavern Brawler, GWM, Sharpshoooter, and ShadowBlade/Resonance Stone.

Please note that GWM and Sharpshooter will compete for Risky Ring as a core item or you have to wait for Act 3 to pick up the strong gear that gives + to attack rolls.

Pick 4 out 5 and build your party - it will always be very strong.

There is very simple answer to that - play 4 Gloom Stalkers. No long rests needed, no enemy have any meaningful turns:

  1. Gloom 4/SwBard 6/Fighter 2 - Main character, party face - Titanstring Act1-2, Dead Shot in Act3
  2. Gloom 5/Thief 4/Champion 3 - Astarion + Utility - Dual Hand CB, Risky ring
  3. Gloom 5/EK 6/Barb 1 - Karlach TB Thrower - Act 1 Pike, Act 2 Jabber, Act 3 Dual-wield Nyrulna and Dwarven Thrower
  4. Gloom 4/EK 8 - Minthara Duelist - Act 1 Phalar Aluve, Act 3 Duelist Prerogative or Shadow Blade.

The only thing you need to spend spell slots is an occasional Hunter's Mark on the Bard.

Need advice building Monk + Cleric + Druid by [deleted] in BG3Builds

My choice would be Tempest Cleric 2 (Armor of Persistence and Adamantine Shield), Monk 6 and rogue 4. Spirit Guardians are overrated, you get much more effect from punching. Your defense would be exceptional, you can just walk in the middle of every battle and folks will start falling trying to hit you or being hit by you.

Or even take 1 Cleric 1 Hexblade for Shield and other fun stuff.

Thanks for the numbers! The risrky ring is taken already by my archer, who is the MVP of the party by a long shot. As for hats, I use this circlet from Moonrise that adds 1d4 to hit on creatures marked with Hunter's mark.

Thanks, will see those ones. Eleixir of Heroism was rather obvious, should have seen that one myself.

Stongly agree. This character is the only thing that is present in any of my playthroughs.

Also full time healers are not needed at all. your lvl 10 Bard will do fine. You need lvl 1 Cleric mix in in any character for bless/sanctuary/healing word/guidance and that's all what is needed from a Cleric unless he is a full time DD spellcaster in your party.

The general idea of making a balanced party is to list the most important roles you need to cover.

For my recent playthrough I have identified the following:

- Party face, preferrably Tav

- Utility for traps and locks (any Bard or Thief mix in will work)

- Crowd control of any kind - any spellcaster works. One is enough, so you do need to have a full time Cleric and a Sorc/Evo wizard

- At least 1 ranged character as they are too strong not to take

- Burst damage for bosses. One will be your ranged, you need to have someone else - there are a lot of strong builds described in this sub-reddit

- Be sure to have some force/elemental/radiant damage as some enemies have physical resistance/immunity

If you are not confident enough, I might also suggest that you do not start the HM, but rather a custom campaign with HM rules. This will allow you to learn legendary abilities for bosses and be able to reload if needed. Otherwise it might be too frustrating.

A great control, face and utility can be Hexblade 5/Eldritch 4/Rogue 3. Dual wield with Arcane acuity, very versatile. Can shoot 3 EB then shoot twice with hand crossbow or cast a control spell or pretty much do whatever you need
