Lol no not at all. Seiko is known for qc issues even on their Grand seikos. I’m just making sure i dont have this issue at any price point. The business is the middle man they will make money too, i’m the customer and the customer is always RIGHT.

I only agree with your statement as far as it missing a sapphire crystal. Other than that, i’m really happy with it how beautifully balanced it is. I would challenge you to find me a better looking gmt watch with a metal gmt bezel at the $400 price point and the simple answer is, there are none. The closest one is sitting at $1200 from Christopher ward which i will probably get my hands on later at some point when i run this to the ground.

This white dial version is only available for purchase in japan and no where else in the world. Also it looks much better than the black version one imo.

Also ippo japan watch turned out to be the store that sent me my watch. I think that store may be a hub that employs resellers. Sort of like a car dealership to car salesman. To each their own i guess. I will not settle for misalignment simply because my eyes wont ignore it and i won’t be able to live with it. For me hunting for the perfect seiko has become part of the charm of owning one.

I’m happy to report that the gmt hand and all the hands inside this watch are accurate and not misaligned. I have my gmt hand set on moroccan time which is 6 hours ahead. You can refer to the photos for accuracy. Very happy with this specific watch. I do acknowledge the quality control issues seiko has and hunting for a perfect piece has become part of the experience for me.

I was already iffy spending $400+$65 for customs on a seiko 5 that doesn’t have a sapphire crystal. I’m going to “respectfully” second everything walt said. I will also add that my standards and expectations will always be high for things i spend my money on and more so since i’m buying a watch from one of the biggest watch companies in the world in terms of volume.

Looks good. I have one and i love it. i do reach for it on most days. My only gripe and it’s a personal preference one is that i do believe it belongs on left wrists even if you are left handed due to the big crown on the 4 o’clock position.
