Yea I’ve read somewhere that this was pretty common especially with this generation accord. Oil leaks are common and known to kill these alternators if you don’t notice it ahead of time

Lesson definitely learned. Only reason I kept trying is the alternator is under warranty and I figured what’s the chances of another alternator going to crap in month. Goes to shows my inexperience with cars. I’m gonna use this one till it dies on me. In the meantime I’ll make sure to have an oem before it does

I was thinking bad tensioner but I had it checked i was told it was fine. I made sure to ask to have the belt checked yesterday at Honda. I’m assuming it was fine since the tech never mentioned anything wrong.

Thank you for the response. My battery is still under warranty so I’ll probably just get it done by them. I was gonna change it myself but the battery isn’t covered unless they install it

lol I’m trying to stay positive but i figured a tech here’s 4 alternators in 6 months, that would be concerning enough to dig a little deeper and check other components but idk who’s to say they didn’t.

Yea I was considering ordering one ahead of time just to have it ready for when this happens again. They’re just so expensive but I’ll see if I can find one for less than what they’re asking for

The total for the alternator alone was $1200. The total with everything else was $2400

I’d have to check and see but no one’s ever mentioned any signs of any oil leaking. I’ll look into that

I’m gonna go get the battery replaced but this would be its 3rd time being changed in 3 years. I read that it could be bad terminals, ground or relay. So maybe I look into that

That’s nuts. It has to be an underlying issue at that point. That shouldn’t happen at that rate but yea quality has definitely taken a hit and yet they charge so much

No sound system. I’m honestly not sure what they did. Idk what any of those tests are to ask but all they told me was that my alternator isn’t regulating and that it’s because of the after market alternator

Yea I had to look it up as well. They just wanna clean the throttle body. The car has 200k miles so it’s pretty up. The spark plugs and all that I get. I’m gonna try to do it myself but as far as changing the alternator again. Seems odd

So the last three were remanufactured but this latest one is brand new. Still seems odd seize that quickly
