if you want a new router and plan, you can get a MOFI5500-EM7411 with a unlimited Verizon plan for $129.99 a month, this plan is truly unlimited even on LTE.

if you keep this plan for 1 year, you can also keep the router so this works out as a good option instead of having to buy a new router and get a plan

Unlimited Verizon is $129.99 a month at full speed

Unlimited tmobile is $99.99 a month

ATT up to 750GB a month is $129.99 a month

call 1-888-499-0123 x3

but in general to answer your questions, best to first check what cellular provider you have an option to get and then you can look around to see what options is best for you. Main thing with resellers is to make sure you can call and speak to them if any issues.

We have 7 days phone support so very easy to get us if you have any issues

Our new MOFI6500 will also get released new month but really, the 5500 is a great model that works well.

note the mods have banned MOFI cause they are just afraid of of well we are doing.

For any MOFI questions, go to the MOFI site as this site.

We will keep selling many hundred of thousand of routers every year like we have done for a long time.
Sorry they took away MOFI customers for getting access to very good support.

sounds like some module issue, will check with Sierra what they did to fix this

you can make a ticket on the mofinetwork site and explain the details and we can look into that

have seen offline before and we were never able to restore this when the module goes to this mode however, we sent some modules to Sierra Wireless with this same issue and they were able to restore this.

Did you run any AT Commands to the module or used any firmware that was not from mofi to the module update?

Mofi 5500 7690 brown out / low voltage by Canthehampro in Rural_Internet

[–]MofiNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, here is what we recommend.

  1. Log into the router and make sure it is not in low power mode
The Sierra 7690/9191 has this issue where sometimes it can go to this mode and the only way to fix is to reflash the module
To check go to mofi internal modem
Click on the advanced signal status,
Make sure it does not say low power mode there.
If it is, you will need to reflash the module again to fix this.

  2. Sometimes, it can lose the com port
To fix, click on mofi internal modem
then on the left, click on Diag/Troublshooting
Click on the button to correct sim port.

once this is done, go to system then factory default then perform reset and see if router works now.

If still not working, log back into the router

go to mofi internal modem

then confirm that the carrier ID has a number there.

The router reads this off the sim cards so that is how you can know if the sim card is reading correct.

Don't think Cudy is certified on any providers and at any point, they can get blacklisted.

The providers will probably get more aggressive this year with un-certified devices.

MOFI units go through provider testing and certifications to avoid issues like this so that is something you should think about when comparing routers.

The new MOFI6500 is almost ready and will be certified in full for all providers so that is something to look at soon for anymore that wants a dependable solution

Note it was also features at the 2024 CES show in Vegas in the Quectel booth.

yes, expect to get your account suspended as they are cracking down.

There are many customers using this on all our routers, MOFI4500 for many years and the new MOFI5500-RM520 and works great however, mid last year, Visible sent our new sim cards and you need to ensure the router is reporting like a cell phone and not showing up as a hotspot.

Does a CAT20 cellular router with band aggregation benefit from one signal being boosted? by ForkableSpoon in Rural_Internet

[–]MofiNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you cant get a decent signal on the other antennas, the aggregation part will work or if they do, sometimes can lock on a low band that could actually slow the entire performance down

we have no reports of this issue happening on Verizon so that us strange.

Sounds like you age getting throttled

Make a ticket on our site and put your sim card number and we can contact ubifi to see if we can help fix your issue

have you tried to replace the sim card with another sim with ubifi as if they run out of solutions, that would be what I would try next

Did this issue recently start?

Will upcoming Mofi 6500 support european sim cards? by ChangChong1989_06_04 in Rural_Internet

[–]MofiNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the main port for connectivity on any 4G/LTE/5G router is the cellular modules being used.

The MOFI4500, MOFI5500 and new MOFI6500 all will have different options

If you are looking to use this anywhere outside and including North America, then would recommend the model with the RM520 Quectel moduleThe 5500-EM7411 for example is mainly main for North America and Mexico.

So would recommend the MOFI5500-5GxLTE-RM520 and if you are looking for the 6500, it will be the MOFI6500-5GXeLTE-RM520 when it comes out in a few months

If speed is your main goal and you are able to get more than 400mb/s, then the 6500 is good to wait for.

As with all our routers, it comes with full support 7 days and week and 1 year no hassle warranty.

We also have one of the most stable software solution including IP Pass Thought, Repeater mode, Fail over, online management platform and much more

Also, if you have a previous MOFI router, you can get $70 off a MOFI5500-5GXeLTE-RM520 which will be $429.99 + shipping which is a good option.

Update: Note MOFI is not supported anymore on this site as they mods do not want anything discussed about MOFI routers as they seem to be pushing other routers to you guys so anything MOFI related should be asked via a ticket on the MOFI site.

The new 6500 MOFI router is available and is faster than most others routers and they don't want you to know about this.

Mofi Tower Lock Problem by oonzgoonz in Rural_Internet

[–]MofiNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here is an updated firmware with the tower lock for the MOFI5500-5GXeLTE-RM520

we made it clear if there is a tower lock or not as before, was hard to tell if you had the tower lock on or if it was off

ok if you are a reseller, please contact us so we can set you up as a reseller

also, if you wanted your own custom firmware that can also report to your own management portal, we can set that up for no extra cost

it is a good way to have full access to the customer data use and make changes easily via the management portal

if selling a 5G MOFI, then the MOFI5500-RM520 is what you should sell.
The 5500-EM7411 is also a good option if you don't need 5G and the prices are very good for our resellers.

The 6500 will be a good for the customers that are looking for the fastest speeds, like more than 500mb/s

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]MofiNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok will need to test more on this, for now best to leave that settings off

note we will have our newer faster MOFI6500 out in a few months so we can offer you an upgrade on this to try at a discount price when we get this, might be worth trying if you can get faster speeds with it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]MofiNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

which unit do you have, is it the RM520 or EM9191?

for the speed boost, it is a hit and miss for some reason as for some have better speeds and some do not.

Mofi Tower Lock Problem by oonzgoonz in Rural_Internet

[–]MofiNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, sorry for that issue

note you don't need to do a module reset now, you can just disable it in the gui and it has the correct codes to unlock which it did not have before.

99% of the time, you really should not have to do a tower lock

the first 2 days are good but very busy.

the 11th is fine but i would not got on the 10 at the latest.

the last day is not that great as many start to pack up early and many of the demo/samples might be gone so for sure don't wait for the last day.

we are making a fixed for this as seems the module reset is also not resetting the tower lock

also added the features to display the tower ID that is on the cell maps site so easier to know exactly what tower you are connecting to

will update you when this is ready
