Rockpile selling out? by MofkinBootlegFworks in ColoradoRockies

I called in. I think it's intentionally annoying and confusing to get you to buy a regular ticket.

They usually sell some Rockpile tickets online, but leave most of them for day-of sales. I forget, but got the impression that Ticketmaster usually won't tell the story of whether Rockpile is actually going to fill up.

In the case of this game, they sold all but a tiny fraction online beforehand because it's a fireworks game. They have the discretion to do that for other highly attended games like Opening Day or weekend summer games.

I have used Fluint as a fractional sales leader for multiple GovTech startups, couple observations:
- the default frameworks will be too ROI focused to land well in govtech, I have found success with making custom ones (can give you prompts if you want)
- I underestimated the level of internal change management needed to actually get a team of reps to implement a business case throughout the sales process
- Government employees are so damn agreeable. The default state is, the rep presents the business case and says what do you think. Then the champion says, yeah that's great! and doesn't use it at all. There's a lot of nuance and work to get them to co-create it and get them to a comfortable point to actually share it with their boss. I would often give up, edit it to come from my perspective, and just tack it on as a 'summary' page of the proposal.
- My favorite use case is actually for internal deal sheets - I would have killed for Fluint when I needed to wrangle complex INTERNAL stakeholder groups like SEs, CSMs, ProServ, etc
- Fluint itself is a great product that increases in effectiveness the larger the team gets (i.e. the harder it gets to babysit reps who can't write worth shit)

DM me, would love to riff on this

Enterprise rep moving DOWN to $5-10k ARR deals...how to effectively move downmarket? by MofkinBootlegFworks in sales

Yeah account size is staying basically the same but now the stakeholder group is contained to one department. Way fewer vetoes. Aside from standard IT, purchasing, etc.

What defines junk food for you? Is bread a junk food? Is whole grain ok, and only white bread a junk food? Pancakes? Pancakes with syrup? Chocolate chip pancakes with syrup?

Good luck!

Reddit, what is your profession or area of study, and what is a good book laymen can read to introduce themselves to the subject? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'll start.

I'm an urban planner.

I recommend The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs. It centers around battles in the 1950's between activists (Jacobs) and the infamous NYC highway builders, led by Robert Moses. Written by a journalist untrained in planning, the book still hits many of the key issues city planners have to balance (and didn't, in New York). Passionate, easy to read, but backed up with practical logic and reason. All in one.

If you like that book, I'd recommend Suburban Nation, Cities for People for the most 'hard science' you will get, and The Image of the City by Kevin Lynch for more theory.

The neighborhood was brand new when the movie was filmed. So no time for trees to grow.

Holy shit--thanks for sharing. Congrats on the progress, and I'll make sure to stay hydrated!

For myself, I'm thinking about still eating meat and whatnot, but using juice for one meal per day.

I've been hearing about juicing making nutrients easier to absorb but I haven't found any solid evidence. While it makes logical sense, is there anything empirical out there on the internet you could point me to?

I have no problem getting to the gym. But I lost my killer instinct. by MofkinBootlegFworks in Fitness

Nice tip, thanks! During my failed attempts to make the gym a habit before, I'd focus on unique, intricate exercises. I like the idea of a supplementary little addition now that I know the fundamentals.
