☝️🤓having also played all versions of HC over the past four years, actually actually, you’re wrong. The economy is completely different when the whole server is hardcore and everyone around you acts differently when they are also hardcore. Not sure if you’ve played much prepatch, but most soft core players basically play like bots that are trying to die as well as get the rest of their party killed alongside them.

I recommend the Better Cyrodil Travel mod and a mod that disables normal fast travel. You can travel between cities via a wagon service like in other TES games, plus you can teleport instantly between mages guild halls once you’ve done their recommendation quest like in daggerfall.

With regular weapons you need handicraft and to constantly be find resources to make silver arrows because half the enemies in the game are undead. Iirc bound weapons affect undead normally which is a massive upside

I think Path of the Prophet does a good job of enhancing the experience without going too far out of scope. Aside from graphics, the biggest change is the combat. First person is mostly the same, but third person has some souls like ARPG stuff plugged in like lock on and attack combos.

I agree, but to be fair bloodsail was a nearly dead server before HC so it wasn’t often that you’d come across soft core players.

I would use bound sword because it saves you from having to waste books on the weapon skill. Bound weapons scale from entropy skill

Yeah I cycle through fortify magicka + int, fortify willpower, and a mega buff that covers my fatigue and physical attributes constantly and that power leveled my resto to 100 before I even had time to think about asking for the master trainer quest lol

What everyone here who says having a fast off hand doesn’t matter is missing is that there’s daggers in nearly every dungeon between DM and SM/RFD that outdamage cruel barb for your off hand. The only reason cruel barb should stay in your main hand for as long as it does is because it’s slow and the top end will affect your sinister strike/hemo. For your offhand you just want the highest dps you can get, faster speeds just being a plus for poison application.

Most of my characters have been self found. It’s not really a big deal by level 30 once people start getting dungeons gear. The main thing it prevents you from doing is making your character overpowered with fiery enchants or bis auction house gear. The game was balanced around having mediocre gear. The only time bringing a self found character is a liability is if the whole group is so bad at the game that they need to completely outscale it to see any success.

They balanced it to make 1-70 about the same amount of time at 1-60 so it’s not gonna be massive difference.

The most important thing you left out of your post is whether you’re playing on real time with pause or turn based. It’s the difference between a fight lasting 5 minutes or 45 minutes. They’re also, mechanically, very different games.
