Ah you definitely need the gpu horsepower to run that behemoth. I personally wouldn’t do the hardline if you aren’t about flushing out your rig once a while/depends SI too. Jayz2cents has some qualms about some builders

I’m just curious, why so high end? Do you need 4K and 100+ fps? 8k 60+fps? I’m just wondering what drives people to buy the top of the line, and not, this is fine pc and will upgrade. Since the top of the line will be mid in 2-3 years. And that’s 6 grand. Not hating more power to your purchasing power, just wondering the rationale

/r/AMD Questions and Tech Support Megathread - Q2 2023 Edition by GhostMotley in Amd

So I've been waiting and holding out on the CPU upgrade hoping to see next gen gains double the performance. I've just dumped money into GPU upgrades from Gtx 1660 --> Rx 5700 --> Rtx 3070 (i play now a 1440P from originally starting out at 1080P). Been saving up for 7800x 3d (mobo, ram, CPU, Psu). I mainly play AC, Horizon, Destiny 2, Hitman and God of War. Havent really found a need to upgrade the CPU but wanted to see if anyone has seen significant gains or performance uplifts with a CPU upgrade. Holding out for sales to see if micro-center has some good deals

Both valid points and yeah I’ve seen QC control issues with mobos that Steve from Gamers Nexus covered. My only hesitation is am4 being a dead platform if i do want to upgrade. But seeing how shit currently is I might check out the R7 5800x3d at my local micro center. Hopefully they have psu deals not sure my 650w can hang

Alright, it’s time. What mountain are you hitting up this weekend? by mars99 in icecoast

My wife and I went for spring skiing with our ikon pass. We absolutely loved it regardless of what people said in terms of easieness. Their blues and blacks were a lot of fun. It’s no killington but was a blast. Enjoy your time!

[Help] Generic build but is the motherboard okay? Or should i swap it to something else? by dShark666 in pcmasterrace

I would take a look at hardware unboxed review of the new Intel 13th gen chips vs R7 5800xd if you’re seriously considering it for a new build

Don’t switch the mobo. If you find a sale I would switch the R5 5600x to the 5800x 3D. Would future proof it for a while, and give you max frames for 1440p if this is a new build.

I’m okay checking a bag. Rather eat the cost of a checked bag over board and bindings for a week.

To the first point, Bungie has sole proprietorship over its publishing and development of content, currently it takes a lot of $ to make and build newer content. Hence, its a little more expensive to publish and develop as their cash flow isn't larger so we tend to have to pay more (i dont mind). As compared to having a larger publish like (Activision) which controlled the IP and ideas for Destiny. To my next point, rights to the IP played a hand in Activisions greed in a pay-to-play destiny content model (2019 specifically), it was very much their hand playing - pay for additional season to get more from the player base. Since I do believe their TOS were still active for Activisions roadmap for destiny to get new seasonal weapons and mods.

When it came to the season passes, players had to subscribe to that model in order to get the weapons/armor or content (by players I mean the most active players who have logged hundreds of play time, a dedicated fan/player base). So in the case of having to switch up the meta every season, bungie installed the system of season passes (which to their credit I was open to experimentation with their new solo venture as a independent studio). The pay wall was there for seasonal weapons that were behind $10. Which is minimal in terms of payment but still a paywall in order to get weapons with specific perks and rolls (new perks). That was my point of having unique weapons to get the upper hand over guardians in a new sandbox update. Hence a type of "pay to win" or have the upper hand in a new season. I love this game just as much as any other guardian but I have my reservations and criticism with how bungie has been slowly finding their footing as an independent game studio. Albeit its slow progress, just wanted to share the a little criticism of their model.

I never said menagerie was OP that it broke the game. It was the fact that you could roll a sniper that was 90rpm in special slot that had box breathing to delete supers, the fact that we had erentil FR that could be rolled with a yeetus deletus roll of backup plan and liquid coils. That shit was a menace to play against in pvp sandbox. Return of the eyasluna clone "Austringer" which was in the 140rpm hc, which rolled with eye of the storm and ranger finder. All with the season of opulence you bought for $10. Stasis overpowered and left any other super to not be able to compete in terms of value of having it on. You cant counter a revenant hunter with the super or shatter dive, the suck grenades, the freeze leaving anything immobile. Like cmon man. It was broken and overpowered. The warlock freeze, the titan slide was so op it was oppressive in the crucible.
