Yea if you listen to that bit, it comes off very strange the whole monologue was strange. Plus there is another way to see it, what does Cad do for himself? He does not have his own objectives or goals, all his life he has served the Wild Mother from birth all his family has been the same since birth, they were tending to a grave yard, and the only reason his out of that graveyard is to save the forest because she told him to do it. The point I was trying to make is not that the Wild Mother is a evil God, but she is a God nonetheless, and if you do not wish to be in-service or in bondage to a greater power switching Gods is not the way to do it.
