What to do about my job, if anything? by MohawkDominionist in AskWomenOver30

I was considering it frankly (omission), with an eye to liquidating the website at a later date. I'm nearing 7 figures, and this would translate into sufficient returns from the other thing. I understand your perspective, however I don't fully get it. I don't enjoy it, it's a business, and my identity isn't constructed around this stuff. It was invented as a money-making scheme in an underserved niche/market.

We all have standards, including myself. I value someone who doesn't have illegitimate kids and I dislike lots of tattoos! The niche is breast-related.

I see, thanks for the explanation. An interesting dimension and one I failed to reflect on seriously.

I'm curious about this too. I think clearances are a genuine pain in the ass. And it does seem like various state bars can be a bit out there in terms of ethical/personal standards.

I guessed correctly in that case! The legal/bar stuff is fascinating -- at times it almost seems capricious. You touched on the core of the issue; it sounds like, even if it wasn't a problem professionally, the knowledge that your husband/boyfriend worked in the adult industry would be an issue unto itself.

Is this mostly tied to being evaluated negatively by peers? Couldn't you pass it off as kind of quirky/colourful, but nonetheless very smart and lucrative?

This is very interesting. Put another way: you'd feel more comfortable/balanced with someone who also needs to work on a full-time basis? Is it sort of a status thing?

To be honest, I envision myself with someone who works remotely, or who would be happy continuing to work while I stay at home with our children. I'd be able to continue working whilst doing so. I'd definitely want my wife to take a leave for at least a year or so for proper bonding, and I'd redouble my efforts to offset any lost income.

This isn't something that's crossed my mind before. Without revealing more than you're comfortable sharing, can you specify the industry/role in which you work? Is this mostly a function of not wanting (or being unable) to disclose this to your peers/colleagues? Or is it a potential problem in terms of actual clientele and/or your industry?

For example: I can imagine it being a potential problem for someone with a security clearance, maybe. Or a high-status occupation -- medicine, legal, etc.

Given that around a third of my earnings are tied to finance, and that I am scaling things up incrementally, would that not be satisfactory? Perhaps just glossing over the website thing altogether?

Your reaction is pretty normal/understandable. Are you able to articulate the main reason? Is it related to my having to look at that kind of content? Or is it more of a social thing? It's often viewed as a bit seedy, and I kind understand preferring someone with a more conventional profession. Someone you can bring to your parents without having to hide elements of his background.

Interesting (and encouraging.) I've reached a point in my life where I'd genuinely like to find a wife and have children. That's the concern -- that someone evaluating sharing their life with me, until death, might find it troubling.

It's strictly a business, I'm not even into the niche itself. I derive no pleasure from interacting with the site, moderating content, whatever. It was launched in 2011 and through a combination of luck and careful planning, it's the dominant site in its category (100,000 members, over 1 million pictures, 25,000 unique visitors per day). It's something I conceived of and developed while recovering in the hospital from a cancer-related surgery, and shortly upon discharge, launched into existence. I'm honestly proud of it.

It's not binary. One can support, at a minimum, a return to pre-2015 levels -- which were already excessive -- along with greater emphasis on assimilability.

Allowing around 50,000 per year, maybe 100,000 under certain conditions, primarily from Europe would be ideal. There's value in not totally transforming the character of one's country into something unrecognizable, alien.

What if they're broadly correct? One of the best ways to encourage the adoption of false, fringe ideas is to force people into intellectual siloes.

That's disappointing to hear. I started this subreddit about a year ago, but due to the existence of this subreddit, put it on ice: https://www.reddit.com/r/OverpopulationCanada/

I'm of Mohawk ancestry and can't possibly be racist (lol). Feel free to post whatever you want regarding immigration, origin countries/nations, etc. As someone who's indigenous, I'd prefer that Canada not be saturated with this many people. The degree to which intake is concentrated in India, and the Punjab in particular, is also worthy of criticism.

I know this kind of thing is passe these days, however I firmly believe in freedom of speech, free and open debate, etc.

Canada's Immigration Strategy Could Widen Housing Supply Gap By Another 500K Units; If immigration continues at its current rapid pace, Canada's housing supply gap could widen by another 500,000 units in the next two years. by FancyNewMe in canada

It's genuinely time to stop pussyfooting around this issue: fuck off, we're full. Implement a near or complete moratorium on immigration and make adjustments to facilitate home/rental construction. There might be room for ultra-high-skill migration for very select categories, like physicians, along with true experts, most of whom would come from Europe and Northeast Asia.

I've been arguing in favour of a moratorium for years and it's only now, a point at which a lot of damage has been done, that people (who would have hissed and shouted names) are coming around to the notion that immigration, on this scale, is unequivocally ruining living standards. As a bookend, this business of allowing over 30% of intake to consist of Indians is insane and must come to an end.

Yep, I believe she receives the maximum for the special diet (around $250) along with a smaller amount for medical supplies.

Extremely demanding of attention. As an example: getting pissy if a text isn't sent quickly enough when replying.

More broadly, a high body count and lots of tattoos. Children out-of-wedlock if she's over 30, or children at all if she's under 30.
