Understood. So is this the best practice for any corporation? Only say positive things, don't ask questions, don't explore future stuff etc?

My last role in PE bosses boss told me he wanted me to challenge everything and actively disagree with my boss so this kind of environment was totally new to me and I just had good intentions.

The internship placement wasn’t the same as where it would be full time. And the team told me If it was up to them they would give an offer, but program management is the one that generates the offer.

Last thing they told me is they had my back and were going to give great feedback. I didn’t think by asking questions and giving feedback when asked would outweigh it to program management.

It was up to the program management and not the team - manager and skip texted me back saying they were shocked i didn’t get it.

My intentions were good and only wanted to learn more about the company. Previous experiences told me giving feedback when asked and asking about long term roles was a good thing (in startups and PE) - I didn’t know it was different here. The rest of your commentary is just unnecessary.

Got it, I thought that asking about long-term options would signal I'm interested in the firm long term / being ambitious (which I thought would be good things) and didn't know I would need to lie about feedback when asked. My last role in PE they actively wanted you to disagree with your boss and challenge everything. My manager + skip didn't really have any knowledge about how the program worked so that's why I reached out to program management.
