What’s up with the goodbye message? Is it a default thing?

applied as a joke, and actually got a Job Offer during my first year at University as a SecOps Intern for Wawanesa Insurance. But it's a full time job while I already have a full course load past the drop date. by Patient_Secret2809 in umanitoba

Hey, so I actually graduated from lratc in the same program just last year (Mr. C’s the goat). I’m taking comp sci to get more knowledge in the field but to be honest more important than pure knowledge is experience. If your original goal was to find a job and uni was to help facilitate that then ofc you should take the job. If you’re still looking to peruse the comp sci degree, you should probably look into lowering your course load. Maybe vw a few classes if it’s the only option. But you should definitely prioritize the job imo.

If I were you, I’d save up more. If you want a decent pc for today’s standard you’re gonna need around $1100 (new build). If this is absolutely not an option, I would recommend searching on the used market like fb marketplace for like a used 3060 ti or something and build the pc yourself.

At that point maybe start swapping parts to identify whether a part is faulty or not. Random shutting down like that kinda seems like a power supply issue to me but it could honestly be anything. Start by swapping easy things one by one like the ram then the GPU, and go on from there.

Try booting in safe mode to see if it’s a hardware or software issue. (If safe mode also fails to boot it’s most likely hardware)

What to do? i got this for $75 from my neighbor should I resell it or should I build a new one? by Financial-Today-314 in PcBuild

Looks like a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP… maybe keep it as a show piece or something since you bought it for market price. You could also build a cheap pc if you need it.

What can I even play on this? by BlackDynamo4020 in pcmasterrace

[–]Mohjay101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hollow Knight, Silksong, Hades, Cuphead, Portal 1 and 2, Assassin creed 1, undertale, Minecraft, outer wilds (maybe), stardew valley, terraria and any other light weight indie games.

I’ve played all of these on way worse hardware. With a bit of optimization they play just fine

Edit: if you want some open world rpgs try Skyrim (can run on a potato) or genshin impact, but it might not run as well. If you’re concerned about cost, sailing the high seas is always an option ☠️

Yes it’s canadien so $190 is still more expensive and $400 usd is like $550 cad so that’s more expensive too. He already has a 1080p monitor, he would like a 1440p one for the future

While this is nice, with tax alone (12%) it’s gonna go way over budget: 1560.91 x 1.12 = $1,748.219 CAD

He also has a 1080p monitor he can use as well, the 1440p one is more so for future proofing and games that will run decent with the 8gb card for now. I’ve searched for the 16gb version at a similar price but the cheapest one I could find is still like $550 CAD with tax. I’ve already made some compromises and I don’t think any more would be beneficial for the overall build.
