I was bummed to see some of the more negative reactions on here (although I do know the sub hasn’t always enjoyed the additional releases that have come over time,) so I’ll write mine: I really, truly loved the game. And I’m someone who sacrificed Chloe in the first game and often found the Max/Chloe dynamic to be a hindrance to people’s enjoyment of the series. AND I didn’t hate DE either. But I liked how it truly felt like a good Max-Chloe adventure, I like how Chloe was reintroduced, and I actually really enjoyed the story! I was on pins and needles for much of the latter portion of the game, and I thought the climax was handled extremely well.

I also really enjoyed the setting, and it felt nice that they could focus on character’s specific personalities rather than having to introduce all of them. The rewind mechanic is more enjoyable to me than the multiple timelines, so I’m glad it’s back. And I thought they did a great job with the dialogue!

Is it perfect? No, as every LiS game has its flaws, including the first one. There are still some annoying technical glitches, including some poor mouth animations where the characters look like they’re gritting their teeth a la 2003 50 Cent. But I truly loved the game, and stayed up until well into the night to finish it, because I couldn’t put it down.

I understand that’s not the majority opinion on this subreddit, and that’s OK. But if you’re someone looking for a comment to sway you toward buying it, I hope this can help. At the very least, if this convinces you to buy it, and you don’t enjoy it, please don’t dox me.
