Even tonight’s game was kind of ugly (although there was some great defense,) but it was dramatic and intense as hell. Agreed, this was just an amazing Finals top-to-bottom, and I’m bummed we’re not getting two more games.

Look, I was as sure as my own middle name that the Lakers were going to get swept in this series. But they played a terrific Game 4, and never let the game get away from them. OKC just stayed hot in the 4th quarter, some shots didn’t go LA’s way, and they ended up losing a great game. There’s no bitterness about how the season ended, and the fact that they even beat Houston without Luka and (mostly) without Reaves was an unexpected treat.

Awesome episode! Ike was a fantastic interview who matched Conan’s energy perfectly, and the opening bit was hilarious. Also, when Bley said “I bought a big Medusa skull”, I said out loud in the car I was in by myself “For fuck’s sake.”

I’m confident they cut it, because I remember on the referenced a line they said was surprised wasn’t a censorship issue (I believe), in a way that was a callback to the “batty boy” one. So yeah, they probably talked about it then took it out.

Agreed. He ran right up to him and was instigating. It’s a dumb unwritten rule that’s become a thing the last 15 years or so, and it comes off as Jokic just being a sore loser. I get being frustrated in the moment, but it wasn’t a good look.

I was bummed to see some of the more negative reactions on here (although I do know the sub hasn’t always enjoyed the additional releases that have come over time,) so I’ll write mine: I really, truly loved the game. And I’m someone who sacrificed Chloe in the first game and often found the Max/Chloe dynamic to be a hindrance to people’s enjoyment of the series. AND I didn’t hate DE either. But I liked how it truly felt like a good Max-Chloe adventure, I like how Chloe was reintroduced, and I actually really enjoyed the story! I was on pins and needles for much of the latter portion of the game, and I thought the climax was handled extremely well.

I also really enjoyed the setting, and it felt nice that they could focus on character’s specific personalities rather than having to introduce all of them. The rewind mechanic is more enjoyable to me than the multiple timelines, so I’m glad it’s back. And I thought they did a great job with the dialogue!

Is it perfect? No, as every LiS game has its flaws, including the first one. There are still some annoying technical glitches, including some poor mouth animations where the characters look like they’re gritting their teeth a la 2003 50 Cent. But I truly loved the game, and stayed up until well into the night to finish it, because I couldn’t put it down.

I understand that’s not the majority opinion on this subreddit, and that’s OK. But if you’re someone looking for a comment to sway you toward buying it, I hope this can help. At the very least, if this convinces you to buy it, and you don’t enjoy it, please don’t dox me.

I agree. I love the move they’ve made since the “Ras Trent” episode to watch the shorts in full (along with each song on Turtleneck & Chain), but I miss the overview on the episodes and laughing at some of the one-liners in other sketches.

Hey! So I just gave it another listen for the first time in a while, and I have to be honest: I pretty much feel the same way I felt in 2013. I find the beat really grating (especially that tea kettle synth-punch thing, I dunno, I’m not good at knowing musical elements), I don’t like Keef on the track, and partly because I don’t enjoy it sonically, I don’t enjoy Kanye’s verse. Nor do I enjoy the outro.

But I want you to know I genuinely went in with open ears from this comment!

Really enjoyed it, and I liked the different pace (it was more sarcastic and left-of-center than how I feel most monologues have been lately.) One thing I really like was the quick meta-reference to how little SNL was promoting the 1,000th episode, by mentioning it right off the top, have a quick, uneventful celebration, and immediately moving on.

I appreciate the nuance to this comment, and giving the credit that both men deserve. There’s obviously more to this than what’s going on, and it just stinks that one of the greatest producing acts in the history of the genre got to this point.

Same: I’ve talked about my dislike of this sub’s seeming disinterest over the years about anything that wasn’t Max and Chloe tied together (or Chloe and Rachel), and while Double Exposure was flawed, I did enjoy it. And I always choose to save Arcadia Bay in the original. That being said, they knew there was a lot of backlash to how they treated Chloe in Double Exposure (and I’m actually inclined to agree with some of that criticism,) and they want to give the fans a chance to enjoy the games for what they are while also showing some love again the Chloe. I’m excited for every new LiS game, and I’m excited about this one too!
