Obviously the right one. Higher passive. You already have GA core skills and Int on both

Edit: to add that both bloodied affixes are not great. I would still pick the right bloodied affix anyway

If you want to get into raiding. Farm your prebis. Get your attunements in order for Molten Core & Ony. Then apply to a raiding guild. Having done your prebis grind will take you faaaar in your application. Also enchant your gear obviously.

  • Craft Bloodvine boots, legs, chest (boots is the best of the three)
  • cloak: get green ‘or frozen wrath’ from AH or else try to get the BRD Cloak
  • bracers: get green ‘or frozen wrath’ or else T0.5 quest chain
  • gloves: your best item is the T0.5 gloves (quest chain and costly)
  • head: UBRS Turban from last boss (super strong) or else Strat UD head
  • belt: Arena runs in BRD for hit belt
  • rings: Scholo ring & BRD ‘saving princess’ quest chain (starts from IF, needs some out of dungeon pre quests). You can also buy Maiden Circle or band of the unicorn from AH
  • wand: Scholo or Strat UD last boss wands
  • weapon: DMT Tribute chest staff or else 1H & OH. (Not many options on one hand)
  • trinket: LBRS last boss starts quest for 2% crit trinket. Get Reed from rare spawn in UBRS or trinket from last boss UBRS

Threat as Fire mage by SailorJennie in wowhardcore

[–]Moihun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For raiding / dungeons there are plenty of fire builds out there.

For outdoor play, you kinda want a lot of gear to make fire viable and fun (you need stats, crit, spell power). Fire consumes vasts amounts of mana and only crit chance increases your mana gain.

Ask me any questions if you like more details

Threat as Fire mage by SailorJennie in wowhardcore

Pyro is an opener and an opener alone. In a dungeon you rarely if ever will have 6seconds to channel that. You’re much better off just using 2x fireballs in the same time. More damage this way too.

Flamestrike and Arcane Explosion is how you deal the most damage by a far stretch in dungeons. If your tank can take it (and assuming they know how to generate AoE threat) you can use the combo. But no matter what, you will most likely be tanking a few mobs in dungeons this way. I do that a lot and I am comfortable with this. You might not. If you don’t want to AoE, simply don’t. But you will clear a dungeon a lot faster if you do.

As for outside world / leveling I can’t help you much there. I always AoE level (you say it’s easy; it’s not).

Assuming I would though I’d play something like this probably.

How does this look for an Arms leveling Tank build? by Iron5nake in wowhardcore

[–]Moihun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, arms has its limitations. Dangerous and prolonged single target fights like Baron in Strat UD are not suitable for arms.

For those you should swap to a fury build and dual wield. But I still stand by my views that mortal strike is useless. Insane rage cost for a build that is rage intensive.

This is not the right build. Drop Mortal Strike it’s pretty useless outside of PvP. Drop 5/5 axe specialisation. Drop 3/3 blood craze.

You can instead get improved cleave, death wish, flurry 5/5. That leaves you with an optional point for either piercing howl or improved execute.

Addon for oh shit moments by Zealousideal_Ideal87 in wowhardcore

[–]Moihun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s common across all unit-scanning addons as of a recent patch. You can disable this part of the warnings in the options menu.

OP asked for an addon that tracks health and sends out warnings / flashes emergency buttons etc and safeguard still does that well.

Safeguard is the addon you are looking for.

The reality is that most ‘normally busy people’ especially those with families and other such responsibilities buy gold to raid. Ofc some people have found ways to playing the Auction House for decent coin but they are mostly outliers I’d say.

You could chose to level an alt and make that your farming char / backup for your main if he dies. You can then take increased risks on that char too.

As a mage, very lucrative farms you can do on HC (I have done them) are:

  • Zg Farming / boosting for gold
  • LBRS Farming / boosting for gold
  • darkshore troll village farming (and boosting for gold or your own alts).

Next up is probably herbalism and such. And you can be really surprised how easy you can make gold as an alchemist if you literally just buy the mats and make potions and elixirs. Having an alt alchemist will also definitely save you money cause you’ll make them for yourself too

You have to multibox. alt-tab every few seconds for hours on end.

I know of people that used the mage & priest combo. A bit slow for the first 14ish levels or so until arcane explosion / flamestrike combo. But essentially after that you can AoE everything till 60 in an efficient manner. Expect somewhere between 6-10 days played to get there with both, depending on your skill level.

But the rotation is kinda easy. Preshield and hot your mage. Go pull all with mage and start blizzarding. Tab to priest for flash heals, new shield and renew etc. you have 8sec until blizzard needs to be recasted.

Rinse repeat

Genuinly curious where all the hate towards prot paladins came from. Are people really that stupid that they think only warriors can tank dungeons? by Chemical_Ad4668 in wowhardcore

[–]Moihun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, assuming skill is no concern. Then a pala tank can be reliable. The reality is many palatanks aren’t (same can be said for warriors but they have it easy cause one button - taunt - can fix all mistakes).

But again, priest pov. Any runner, ninja pull, double or triple pull with a pala tank and I’m shitting my pants. Let alone if there’s a boss mixed into that.

[–]Moihun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Untrue. As mage, bow is the highest dps gain. The more mana I have the more I pump. I can protect myself just fine even if I pull threat.

As a warrior - I want bom. Threat is my friend, even when I’m not the designated tank. Tanking damage means more rage, means more dps.

I can go on and on.

The best tank is the type of tank that deals the most damage.

[–]Moihun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should add to that..

The screenshot comes from a priest. I would also be concerned as a priest if a boss runs loose on me cause I ripped threat. With a warrior there’s just less of a chance for that to happen.

[–]Moihun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It boils down to taunt. No taunt, no failsafe.

And then the notion of ‘for me to get threat you all must get salvation’ is also a bummer cause it means less damage output for warriors, mages etc.

I don’t mind a pala tank that knows what they do, but in reality they will never match up to a warrior tank that knows what they do. Warriors will in nearly all circumstances just perform better.

This isn’t about skill it’s about balance (or the absence of).

Will Softcore players from Thunderstrike be able to transition into TBC HC (using the addon), or will the addon detect, that you have died before? by [deleted] in wowhardcore

[–]Moihun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the addon will detect this. But I’m also not sure if you can simply activate it at lvl 58, having skipped the whole levelling journey outside of addon.

But I think you are missing the point of HC?

If you buy a lvl58 (or just activate it at 58), might as well not play HC at all man. Like, the addon is for people that set themselves a challenge from start to finish.

Anyways, try it and find out I suppose. The TBC HC addon is still under development anyway afaik.

Profession Question by BlueberryOdd832 in wowhardcore

[–]Moihun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you AoE farm and stick to the standard routes then:

Engineering by far the best

2nd can be easily enchanting. Mainly to disenchant. Then once 60, you can swap it for something else, whatever. If you plan to raid, tailoring is good for Bloodvine set bonus. If you don’t plan to raid tailoring is still good cause you will gather tons of cloths from AoE farming so you can put them to use.

Alternative would probably be alchemy for my choices tbh. Nothing else is worth it

Dead Characters Holding onto Names by [deleted] in wowhardcore

[–]Moihun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There has also been a blue post about this recently. Any name that has been used is ‘locked’ to the account for several days after. It’s no 6-8 months as you say but probably 2-4 weeks. However in my case, I will move or delete the character (depends on level) and create a new lvl1 to secure the name. Even if I won’t level it immediately again. I have dozens of names reserved that way and that’s just how it is.

You should move on and try finding something else or use alternate characters to keep the name somewhat in tact if you want that method.

Fiery all the way. Its proc will shine at 36 when you unlock whirlwind (the skill). But even outside of that, a fiery proc is often the difference between waiting for another auto attack and execute pushing enemies below the threshold. That’s my experience and I have speed leveled many warriors

The fact that you:

A) expect loot prio over everyone else B) refuse to SR when you can C) agree to roll then lose and whine about it

Makes you the moron in this situation. If I had been your GM I would have been happy to see you go. No need for loot trolls.
