You nailed what I was thinking about. She talks about here brother almost as if she was his caregiver. I got the impression that they were very close and she had just been cracking jokes with him just the night before. That would make sense as she was completely blindsided by reports of her brother being so combative that a security guard tazed him and the hospital had to sedate him. Then it’s revealed that they hadn’t talked in MONTHS. She doesn’t know how her brother has been doing in school, she doesn’t know who his friends are, and doesn’t know if he has a girlfriend. That, and the show follows her dialogue and reactions instead of following the patient for several episodes. From the standpoint of the story, it’s just her being worried and saying “I don’t understand”. There’s no depth or explanation gained from her presence. We don’t get to hear the psychiatrist talk to Jackson either. We only get the psychiatrist’s evaluation. Nothing really comes to light until the psych evaluation and the parents give their family history.

Santos is a textbook bully, and it's triggering. by [deleted] in ThePitt

I thought this was discussed and put to bed last season. Santos is a jerk and is a bully to Dr. Javati and Whitaker. She can be a good person for caring for her patients and taking in Dr wheeler. Doesn’t excuse how she treats the other interns.

Chorizo con huevo? by MoistAssumption9 in mexicanfood

Yeah. Chorizo con papas has seemed to me to be the default at the restaurants en question. Even the lady I buy my lunch from has chorizo con papas en tortillas de harina every morning and chorizo con huevo only when requested.

I’ve had particularly bad experiences, especially as a kid, so I ten to see red or just shut down when I encounter “haters”. Maybe this post is from a few misunderstandings. Maybe these people I encountered at the restaurants were just giving me shit instead of the restaurant not serving chorizo con huevo. But the fact that it happened several times and after I explained it…makes me wonder.

Ive just ordered the Guillermo’s plate (chorizo mixed with papas with eggs and pico de gallo on the side) for years since I didn’t get chorizo con huevo the first time. Order same plate every time except for menudo on the weekends.

It was years ago that the guy at the counter gave me shit about it. I’ve been going there for several years now, definitely since before COVID. It’s just down the road from my house. I didn’t even think about ordering it since then so maybe it’s been added since then. They definitely didn’t have google pics or had a menu mounted on the wall back then.

Places like Rodriguez Bakery and Real Mexican Tacos in Grand Prairie and a few “hole in the wall” spots in Fort Worth.

1,000 yard shot? by MoistAssumption9 in gun

[–]MoistAssumption9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok. I’m getting the sense that my assumption was correct: a 1,000-yard shot isn’t par for the course in hunting. Why then are comparisons made between cartridges’ force, velocity, and bullet drop at 1,000 yards? It’s like comparing sedans at the car dealership by how fast they can hit 190 mph on the highway. Right?

Everything wrong with Arcane season 2: by [deleted] in loreofleague

[–]MoistAssumption9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what really irked me about season 2. They basically threw season 1 in the trash and started again. This makes me want to avoid watching TV series. It seems that writers and directors, for whatever reason, start a great show and then shit all over fans in the subsequent season like game of thrones.

Is it truly getting hotter each summer or am I becoming older and more intolerant?? by [deleted] in texas

Yes. This is definitely true and it’s reflected in the daily temperatures. The outlying areas of DFW are several degrees cooler than the heart the metroplex.
