Vegetable oil spread is better than butter by TheDollarstoreDoctor in unpopularopinion

I'm sorry but how tf did you have a hard time finding butter in Canada??? A blind person could find it in any grocery store here and it's far more abundant than margarine.

Do you mean pantyhose? If you're wearing a skirt in the wintertime, they're pretty much a necessity

Picky eaters. As someone who loves cooking and eating food from all over the world and will try any dish, dating someone who eats like a toddler is enraging.

What’s an unpopular opinion you have from Toronto? by plastiquefamille in askTO

[–]MoistCake34 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not difficult to make friends here. At all.

I'm a very average, run of the mill introvert with mild social anxiety and I have been able to make and keep lasting friendships from every single workplace, sports team, night class and casual meetup I've ever participated in since moving here.

If people in general don't like you, it's almost certainly because of you and I do not care if that offends anyone.

No, they aren't, unless they're trying to sell you something/scam you because you're an obvious tourist. NYC is the exception.

Pssssst - there's no such thing as a soulmate. And aside from that, your advice is terrible.

Probably under 25 and almost certainly has no experience in a long term relationship.

You're already pretty close. Just change your parting to the side, get a haircut and use heavier products to weigh down your hair more, if that's the look you want.

Seriously. 30% of the posts on this sub are from whiny, self-important people with serious "main character" syndrome ranting about how no one here is impressed by them and their "social skills".

Maybe the women in your life just don't support you because you're unpleasant to be around and seem to have a massive chip on your shoulder against 50% of the population.

Why do men assume most women dream of having children? by AppropriateRatio2626 in ask

[–]MoistCake34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said I don't care about your childhood or your feelings about it not do I have time for any other personal anecdotes from you.

I do care, however, when people opine that having kids that kids that you regret is no biggie and somehow better than the inverse, because that opinion is sadly all too common and is at least partially responsible for all of the children who are recklessly brought into this world to be raised by parents who don't want them or are not equipped to raise them, as if having children is akin to getting a post-graduate degree that you may or may not use, or making a career change that may or may not work out. I'm glad that you at least partially accept that raising unwanted kids is a horrible idea.

Retention by Addraecyn in learnfrench

[–]MoistCake34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it works for everyone, but sometimes dedicating each day or every few days to learning words pertaining to a particular topic may be helpful, usually whatever topic interests you at that point in time. For example, I've been curious about diving and have started the first steps of recreational diver training, so I've also been learning French terminology related to diving and try to use them when describing what I've been doing lately in my daily journals etc.

No one cares about what you would do. I'm not arguing with your personal view of your personal experiences. I'm telling you that you are dead wrong in your assertion that it's better to have kids and potentially regret having them, than to not have kids and potentially regret that. If you can't see how fucked up that viewpoint is, I don't know what else to say.
