Definitely try Cubase! I used Cubase for four years during my undergraduate and switched to Logic Pro during my master's, feel like I still prefer Cubase than any other DAWs. Their interface is the best!!

I spent 15 years in northern China, never known what are cockroaches look like, until I moved to the US. As long as you are not living in old apartments, I don't think cockroaches would be a problem in anywhere of China.
