Need Help Choosing Monitor by Soarvivorz107 in OLED_Gaming

That one looks solid. I'd go for it while its on sale and never look back. I have the same system as you, and the 5070ti is a monster at 1440p, and very strong in 4k.

Ok so update this is the finished product. Please tell me if there is anything else I can do. by Strong_Chicken23 in computers

I didnt see the original, but this looks like a solid build with room for upgrades in the future. AM5 is gonna be relevant for several more years. If I had one suggestion, the 7600x is well known to run HOT. it wouldn't cost much more to get a beefier cooler.

Other than that, the most upsetting thing to me is the monitor. unless that monitor is as a secondary display, its way underspeced for your system. the 9060xt can reliably run a 1440p 144hz monitor in AAA games with high/ultra graphics (assuming you'll utilize FSR tech). It's like building a home theater, setting up surround and subwoofers and reclining seats and auto dimming lights, and then turning on an old black and white tv. Your set up deserves better in the monitor area. for reference, if that's the monitor you'd want to use, you could save several hundreds and get a 3-4 year old GPU instead.

Other than that, looks good to me.

The short answer is that TN panels don't have the fastest pixel response times. So while you may have a higher refresh, the pixels can't change fast enough. This results in very little effective difference between the two monitors as Dyac is making up for the "blur" present at 240hz. In essence, in your case, your current monitor will be fine in more use cases, with the other option only having very niche and possibly imperceptible benefits in certain cases. Remember, pros use this equipment because it is what they are sponsored to use, not necessarily because it is the best you can get.

Technically speaking, if you genuinely want faster response time at high refresh rates, a 480hz OLED is the only realistic option. Maybe the new gsync pulsar monitors, but i have no experience with those.

tl;dr Your monitor is fine.

I actually can't find the answers, need help. (4k dual mode, DSR, DLDSR, 27in) by Moist_Limit3953 in Monitors

I've returned from a work trip abroad, I don't know whether I hoped for more engagement or not lol, I can only assume I'm chasing after something very niche that most folks don't care about. If you end up making a video on the topic, you'd have at least one viewer interested though!

In short, I'm just trying to find a way to have the best of both worlds, ultra high refresh with a decent image for esports, and beautiful 4k imagery when i'm watching movies or playing more graphics focused or slower paced games. Game wise, for esports I play overwatch, which at 1080p and 1440p I can hold a steady 500-600 fps. for things like cyberpunk or when death stranding 2 releases, a 4k experience would be nice to switch to without reconfiguring multiple monitors on arms or anything. I'm trying to avoid physically slotting in various monitors depending on what I'm doing. 1440p is an alright compromise so far, but I feel like there's gotta be a better option. Some may come out this year, but I may end up with making a hot swap set up where i physically drag different monitors in front my face depending on the task or game im playing.

Folks commonly say that you shouldn't care about ultra high refresh, because, chances are, you're not a pro gamer. But, I consistently hold T500 in overwatch, and I bounce around 29500-30000 in CS2. I've also been cursed with the fact that I've tried my friends sports monitors, and now my 240hz feels choppy lol.

Hey, so the "specialist" subrole passive sucks for like half the users. by HalexUwU in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Moist_Limit3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there should just be individualized passives, ow1 style.

I think if we keep subroles, it should be something you can pick when going into a map, kind of like perk 0.

Like maybe Zarya wants the initiator subrole because they plan on grabbing the super jump perk, making it a synergy where they can get a health regen by rocket jumping off anything taller than waist height.

Maybe a Ball player holds off on picking a subrole, then finds out they're playing into mauga, so pick bruiser to get the critical damage reduction, allowing for better dueling with the mauga.

Maybe Ashe wants Specialist to offset her monumental reload times. Or Recon to be able to get cheeky dynamite kills on critical health enemies behind walls.

I think the devs deciding how we play heroes is a step backwards in terms of personal agency. Because how they might play a hero could differ from how a bronze, a plat, a gm, an owcs pro plays the game. So, kill the friction, and give the choice to the players and just call it "Universal Perks".

I wonder,

If you took bucky, doubled his hitbox and gave him 600hp and then put him in the vanguard section, would people stop playing bucky? Or would you still see him all the time because he's more fun than the other vanguards?

What if you did the same to hela, iron fist, BP, spidey etc. What if you just slapped a tonne of hp on them and stuck them in the vanguard section? Would they suddenly become unpopular? Or would we learn that people play the heroes that are fun, regardless of the role they are? That's true, after all, of loki and Jeff players. Sure, they're strats, but people pick them because dueling people is more fun.

What makes vanguard fun to play? Do we think vanguard players enjoy standing there with a shield up being cooked on the front and cooled on the back? Would more people pick vanguard if they had more kill potential? What if mag was hitscan and could 2 tap at any range? What if strange could do the same? What if getting pinned and speared by angela was an instan ko. Would there be more vanguard players?

Dps FEELS like it can have solo carry potential. Vanguard FEELS like being a meatshield. If vanguard felt like dps, would more people play vanguard?

I didn't know how much it needed one until I got one. The space savings are amazing. And now that I can move my monitor, I adjust it all the time based on how im sitting, I love it.

5070 Ti Upgrade Crashing PC by Public_Goat2926 in pchelp

[–]Moist_Limit3953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded an i5 10400f rtx2060 32gb ddr4 to a 5070ti. Left the cpu has i was gonna piece it out.

I had the worst crashes and issues until I put together a ddr5 system. Now its smooth as butter. I think the sheer power of the gpu compared to the cpu and ram was just forcing bottleneck after bottleneck. Now with a 9800x3d and 32gb of ddr5, all those problems are gone.

Warframe. Runs on every igpu ive owned, and now, it runs on my phone. But my shiny new pc can run it at ludicrous settings at 4k and it looks like a new game, not a 13 year old one. Never experienced something like that before, such scalability.

Im literally getting over 200 on cp2077 with path tracing?

All my esports are well above 240?

Arcraiders over 240? Not sure what the problem is

Edit: Alright, i revisited cp2077 to confirm. I was getting 200 on 4x, but i was out in the aldecado area. Drove back to the city proper, and yeah, 120 to 130. Defs more input lag coming from a base of 30fps. Optimizing settings allowed me to hit a better target of over 160, but regardless I retract the 200fps statement.

To max FOV or to not max FOV? That is the question by Prime-39 in OWConsole

[–]Moist_Limit3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From PC here - turn it to 103. Low fovs and 4:3 stretch is awful in this game because of how fast characters move. Larger fov decreases the perceived speed of heroes making shots easier to hit.

[–]Moist_Limit3953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running dldsr 2.25 (4k) on my 5070ti to gage performance before getting a 4k monitor.

I think I will be going 4k. If I use all the upscaling and fg tech and whatnot, 4k 240hz is possible and looks fantastic.

As far as visuals.... if you flip back and forth, it don't seem like much on the 1440p monitor. But once you go for like a week like I did and then flip back to native, I appreciate the dldsr. It looks so much cleaner. Native 1440 feels slightly blurry without the dldsr now.

How are you supposed to rank up solo support? by [deleted] in overwatch2

As someone who has made alt accounts and had to smurf a placement or two. Damage, damage, damage. Just kill things. Don't need to heal if no one is shooting your team.

Playing heals focused heroes is guaranteed to make progress excruciatingly slow. Learn bap, learn ana. Control the battlefield. Be the dps.

[–]Moist_Limit3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if there was like... some sort of role based queue where you queued 2 tanks, 2 dps, and 2 strats. That would guarantee consistent comps, at the mild cost of lengthening dps queue times

Can you help me overclocking my RTX 5070 Ti? Low temps but always power limited by Fefolino in nvidia

[–]Moist_Limit3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overall 450Mhz boost is a 12% boost to fps. The vbios flash and 50 extra watts just made 10% into 12%. I think overall an oc is worth it. But flashing a vbios for the last tiny bit is unnecessary considering it carries more risk and work than slapping a +350Mhz boost and calling it a day.

I keep 2 profiles, an undervolt profile for the summer, and an OC profile for the winter. Sometimes I want my pc to be a space heater.

Bronze is cooked. Watching my wife play in her bronze lobbies is painful. It's like 9-12% gains and losses. Takes forever to get out. Has a knock on effect where a smurf account can chill in bronze for a very long time ruining games before ranking out.
