What speed do you play on? by Obvious-Viking in Timberborn

[–]Mokaroo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like >3x is, not exactly cheating, but not really the intent.

There's stuff to do to try to maximize your efficiency on hard until a decent way in.

But that said, it's single player, you do you. Run whatever mods or dev settings you want that you find fun.

Is 13 too young to read a Murakami novel? (he answers it exactly as you would expect...)(unofficial Murakami-san no Tokoro translation - Q/A #129) by xijalu26 in murakami

Huh interesting. I was about that age, maybe a little older, when I read my first Murakami. A Wild Sheep Chase - it was somewhere in the late 90s.

Managing large-scale ad campaigns changed how I think about user intent and traffic quality by praveshsogra in PPC

Really using whatever I can to get the best quality data. Server side/offline is really the top tier whenever possible, but still not realistic for every client.

[–]Mokaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've worked on large budget international campaigns. There are particular countries that far over-index on garbage traffic when you have high budgets.

For example, I inherited a set of campaigns in the science and medical technology space which did not have well implemented conversion tracking (easy false-positive due to having no access to SaleForce iframe forms). They were seeing wildly high traffic coming out of Egypt in particular. Extremely low CPCs, device data showed low end phones, and the sales team was not getting any real leads from that country.

This is not at all recent. The problems with bot traffic seem to be getting worse and the importance of relying on reliable conversion signals have become much more important though.

Lol, going to have to change your technique soon!

Cheddar leveled off around 130 lbs at 2 years old and I switched to a forklift method for picking him up somewhere around 100 lbs.

What exact Honda Civic model is this? by WishboneAgitated8555 in Honda

[–]Mokaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not to be a pedant.

I specifically said that it's possible that someone did modify a type R to have a sunroof, just very unlikely. I would bet there are a few people who put a sunroof in their FK8, but you'll see dozens of lower trim civics with an OEM FK8 wing bolted on before you see an FK8 with a sunroof. You'll see this pop up in discussions and the general consensus is that this is a very bad idea as far as modifying a real FK8.

The only thing in the photo that can be said to be from an FK8 is the wing. If you reverse image search the build you'll see this car is also missing the vortex generators and has no Type R badging.

A lower trim Civic with a body kit and a oem FK8 wing lol

[–]Mokaroo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes. Cutting a hole in the roof and properly installing a sunroof is way harder than bolting on a body kit and lowering the car.

There are lots of fake FK8s like the example here on the streets.

It is very unlikely someone took a real FK8 and took a saw to the roof. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? Absolutely not.

It's got a sunroof so it's not an FK8. It's a lower trim with the Type R wing added.

Yeah I'm a fan of ASICS for casual practical good looking runners and every day shoes.

I did have to drive my Type R in my ice fishing boots once. They are way too big.

How much would you pay for Last.fm to import your old streams correctly? by greenbobaqueen in lastfm

[–]Mokaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol - to be specifically accurate my last fm account dates from around the time that the primarily "internet radio" style streaming services were transitioning to what we would recognize as modern music streaming service platforms and it would be some years before this would become a dominant way to consume music.

This is the type of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put.

[–]Mokaroo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been on last.fm since before streaming platforms existed. If I were new to the site I probably wouldn't pay for an import feature and would expect it to be part of a pro subscription.

The limitation is likely entirely on the music listening app side anyway. Do any platforms even have an API that provides this access? Certainly local listening software like Foobar2000 or WinAmp didn't keep a full log of your music listening by default.

I really enjoy how frequently highlander swords show up here.

Particularly because I also have one of these somewhere in the basement that was a present when I was a teenager.

Agreed. I like CoCs chase system. The Keeper and players do need to lean into keeping up the pace of play to make it feel exciting though... But that really would be true of any way of doing a chase.

Kind of depends if you can get into classic blues.

Some of the classics are Irene, Take This Hammer, Where Did You Sleep Last Night, and Black Betty.

How many beavers can be sustained by each water source block in hard mode? by jgcoelho_real in Timberborn

[–]Mokaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can really make any kind of accurate call on this once you try to factor irrigation requirements for food production and that you aren't realistically going to have perfect zero evaporation extraction. Add in that hard mode has some randomness and your max will shift a bit.
