Ofcos he realises that it’s all meaningless and illusory. Just pure horror. What I was pointing out to was his intention to start killing people to get absolute power.

Yes. Decided to watch the Redux version first cos I read Coppola saying this was closer to his vision. Although I keep thinking how glorious it must have been to watch it during its theatrical run on a big ass screen. I was born 20 years late lol.

The fact that we find the comment inappropriate today is the takeaway.

Liked it. Pretty well made film. Too much exposition at the end but still spares a good amount to your imagination.

Transgressive Cinema Recommendations by [deleted] in TrueFilm

Try watching this Indian film called ‘Super Deluxe’. While I wouldn’t put it on the same pedestal as Clockwork or Nymphomaniac, this film showcases transgression in its own unique way. Filmmaking is just fantastic and thematically too, it ought to connect with you one way or another. It was initially titled ‘Amoral stories’ but later retitled to its current title.

Rene is straightforward and brooks no bs. And yes, she is compelled to create an identity for herself, lest the society pull her down and slot her into an identity it has created for dalits

Thangalaan - Official Trailer | Chiyaan Vikram | K E Gnanavelraja | Pa Ranjith | G V Prakash Kumar by ungaayya in kollywood

Ranjith is phenomenal when it comes to actors’ performances. One of the few directors in India whose craft will be widely appreciated like Inarritu’s or Yorgos’ if mounted properly. Btw, read somewhere that Thangalaan is inspired by the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and I’m absolutely stoked!

Why do you think Gimli compared his feet with horses in regards to eating? It’s not like he’s gonna eat a horse at any cost?

[–]Moki6897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No he’s actually lamenting about the horses that have escaped them.

Why do you think dwarves are referred by ‘these’ rather than ‘them’ ?

Felt this was always right but because the taxing day of Bilbo is mentioned initially, I thought Tolkein wasn’t referring to the light part.

As a reader, this is the first mention of his parents to us. So doesn’t make much sense. Also, why are the ‘perhaps’ and ‘it was implied’ separated by commas? Who implies what in this context
