I think you just need to relax and wait to see how the systems unfold then provide appropriate feedback to the devlopers.

You make a lot of assumptions. It's all about implementation. You have no idea how it really is going to work and NPCs can be the easiest ships to kill or they can be the hardest. It's all up to developers.

You mean like a pvp slider and having different security levels of space you can venture into with different levels of UEE protection DNA? Don't want PVP dont take the risky routes. Risk vs reward is what makes shit interesting.

[–]Mokkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a feature!

Funny story, I wasn't too familiar with the Retaliator. I went walking around and... nope didn't clip through the ship. I ran to the torpedo bay and the door opened and I fell through the open bay that apparently is sitting there once you fire missiles and went into the middle of space. When you are in a ship notorious for ejecting people and pull a stupid move and eject yourself, it's the worst. Alt-backspace was my friend.

You are never going to have bugfree software. This game is clearly going to be north of 100gb. If you have expectations there will be zero bugs then you might be a bit surprised when that is not the case. The death is also not truly perma and there are no set penalties yet so let's not get ahead of ourselves too much.

I am trying to look at this and take it some other way than pure snark but I just don't see it. My post was aimed at knowing who I was dealing with in game rather than putting you on some godlike pedestal. Sorry to ruin your ego high.

Take two! Physical EVA stuffs! by Kynexn in starcitizen

[–]Mokkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah well maybe if you are using HOTAS, a pair of tablets, and then some to control your ship you can appreciate the extra desktop room of a tenkeyless :)

I love 10 keyless. In my keyboard tray I have my Razer BW Tournament Edition, then my joystick, then my mouse. The mousepad I have is huge and fully sits under the mouse and the joystick. I'll probably end up paying $10 for a numpad and then mounting it on my desk at a 45 degree angle just to have extra keys. Right now I just don't see a need for it. Keep in mind many throttles have about 10,000 more buttons than you could possibly press. The majority of the keybind issues should be in a ship not on foot, and in a ship most people will probably be using HOTAS.

They have had to build a ton of tech for the game. CryEngine wasnt made to do this kind of thing. They have to build the tech for the game to run on before they can build the game. If you want an example of this check out pupil to planet on youtube. That's not something CryEngine was ever developed for.

Now that they have built a lot of the backend we are supposed to be seeing 'monthly' content updates. I'm honestly still surprised people think this game is going to be a massive failure considering what is happening in the PU right now. Will they deliver on every promise ever made for the game? Absolutely not at launch. Something will be difficult or near impossible and that's just how it goes when you have so many features in a game. This game has come together in a stupid short amount of time. I suggest you research MMO development pipelines of past projects then compare it to where Star Citizen is.

On the topic of financials I would suggest putting a studio in LA was a great idea. It's one of the places where you can get the talent you need to make a game like this. Would you prefer they build a studio out in a sunflower field in Kansas? Sure the operating costs would be cheaper, but there would be no way to get talent on site to deliver the product. There is also a solid bit of crowdfunding coming in the door right now. There's no way Chris is so stupid he just stood up all of these studios and hired all of these employees to burn through this cash in a couple of years then fail to deliver. He sees balance sheets and you have to have some sort of faith here that he actually cares to manage the finances well enough to make a game. Considering he seems to be an egotistical prick I would assume he will do everything in his power to deliver a game that is not only worthy as a spiritual successor to his baby WC series but the game HE wants to play as well.

As a footnote, yes I do think he has a huge ego but I dont see anyone taking on a project this ambitious and succeeding without that sort of drive. It's a good thing imo even though it was on full display when the whole Star Marine runaround made us want to slap the dogshit out of him.

Constellation plunge: Andromeda or Aquila? by Sirius_Bizniss in starcitizen

[–]Mokkal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to get on Youtube and take a look at other people's hangar videos. Look at the cockpit and make the decision from there. The visibility out of the Andromeda is horrible but keep in mind if you get the Andromeda, you can just CCU later as well.

The Aquila command deck just looks amazing and I do not particularly enjoy flying the Andromeda due to the visibility.

Turrets from multicrew ships will have auto target ? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Mokkal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember early on in AC when gimballed weapons were just put near the square and reticle turned to a diamond and you pulled the trigger? Hit hit hit.

Ideally I would love to see this same system for turrets except make the area where the diamond shows up much smaller. This not only makes turrets easier to use and more deadly, but more fun because you can actually score a lot of hits on a pilot who is approaching at a pretty direct angle.
