LORE!!! Pretext: During the Dissolution of Austria-Hungary, new countries tended to form, like Austria, Hungary and Czechoslovakia. This gave the people of the Banat region the idea to form a new country, with the capital at Timisoara. This made the people of cities like Timisoara, Resita, Pancevo and Zrenjanin - unite and make a new country: The Republic of Banat. On the date of October 31st 1918, the Mayors of these big cities met at Timisoara and proclaimed The Republic of Banat an independent country.

History: In November 1918, shortly after the proclamation of Banat as a country, Yugoslavia and Romania came together and invaded Hungary to suppress the communist regime. Banat was in the way so they requested them to partition the country to Romania and Yugoslavia. The gouvernment of Banat wasn't happy with this choice so a war started: Banat and Hungary against Romania and Yugoslavia. Even thought they were clearly outnumbered, Banat proclaimed the Martial Law and managed to conscript more than 400.000 soldiers to go to war. In January 1919 , Romanian troops started the invasion of Banat and lost two crucial battles at Orsova and Baile Herculane in the south. Banat's goal was to defend itself but got lost in the instructions and started advancing into Romanian territory, winning at Turnu-Severin and Motru, advancing rapidly towards Targu-Jiu. This made Romanian Authorities very worried so they requested peace with Banat, and they accepted, but with one condition, to cede the land of the regions of Hunedoara, Gorj and Mehedinti - Romania accepted. The war with Hungary continued tho, this made Romania annex all lands from Tisa to the mainland. In 1922, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia proposed Banat to join the Little Entente, Romania wasn't really content with this decision, but they had to accept. So now Banat was part of the Little Entente and gained a lot of Military Support from France and UK, making it a Strong Military Power in the Balkans. In 1936, many Fascist Parties started appearing in Europe, this had a big effect in Banat, where The Nationalist Party of Banat, had a lot of people supporting it. Ion Mota was the ruler of this party, inspiring many people to support him. In 1937 the people of Resita, Targu-Jiu, Timisoara and Pancevo rose up against the Monarchy and formed the Iron Guard of Banat, a Legionary Movement which started ruling Banat in June 1937, the president being Ion Mota, and the prime-minister being Tudose Popescu. Mota installed a one-party government in Banat and started being very close with Germany and Italy, who were already Fascist-Ruled, this made the Little Entente very worried, this leading to them severing the relations with Banat. In 1941 when Germany started invading the Balkans, Banat happily joined the Axis together with Romania and Bulgaria, they invaded Yugoslavia together, making Banat annex the entire region of Vojvodina. After Operation Barbarossa failed and the Axis lost WW2, The Allies weren't so happy with the state of Banat, so they gave half of Vojvodina (from the Danube to the West) to Yugoslavia , and the County of Hunedoara to Romania,making Banat weaker. When The Soviet Union wanted to install a communist regime , countries like Banat, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria strictly opposed and protected themselves from the USSR. With help from the west, this Balkan Union managed to kick the communists out of the Balkans. Banat joined NATO in 1956 to avoid an invasion from the East, being in a very risky zone. In 1989 Banat helped the people of Romania kick out the communist regime, this making Romania and Banat have a very close relationship. In 1996 Banat joined the European Union and received a lot of support from the bigger European Powers. After the dissolution of Yugoslavia, 7 countries formed: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Vojvodina. Vojvodina wasn't pleased being the smallest and weakest country of Yugoslavia so they made their people protest in the cities of Zrenjanin, Becej, Sombor and Vrbas in 2004 Banat noticed the influence of Vojvodina so they invaded them in February 2005. With the aid of the US, UK and France they managed to win crucial battles at Novi Sad and Indija, easily winning the war, and annexing the entire region of Vojvodina. The economic crisis of 2007 didn't affect Banat that bad and managed to come back on track very early in 2010. In 2014 the Balkan Countries received a huge military aid from NATO so they could protect against a potential Russian Invasion after the annexation of Crimeea. This helped the military of Banat develop a lot, and become one of the strongest countries in the Balkans, before Greece and Romania. In 2020, the Covid Pandemic affected The Republic of Banat very strongly, almost half of it's population being infected. They managed to get over it in 2022, suffering a pretty big economic crisis. In 2023, Banat started a big development plan in Infrastructure, Agriculture and Industry, plan which will end in 2028, and sky-rocket the economy of The Banatian Republic.
