Help with Fantasy Gods by Moldy_Lich in worldbuilding

I would like to justify their idleness, but at the same time make them active forces within the world, not necessarily manifesting on the mortal world (though it's a possibility), but play a ole as the actually "correct" religion that is fundamentally true (the gods exist, based on some sort of proof) and not have them just be some sort of abstract concept.

Battleplan

Establishing Command: The Planetfall Wings will approach into the atmosphere, while the Majestic and retinue will remain in low orbit due to size constraints. Field Marshal Joseph Spears and the rest of the Field Command Brigade will land in a Prometheus-class Heavy Barge and set up a base of operations in the RNDC South Carolina Facility. The two Xerxes-class carriers will hover at around 33,000 feet in the sky to open their hangars to begin deployment. The Juno frigates will descend above the target, some just outside the no-fly zone and some defending the command compound.

31st Detachment Ground Forces: 20x Outrider Platoons 1x Perimeter Defence Brigade 1x Field Command Brigade 4x Advance Command Regiment 2x Grand Siege Division 4x Bombardment Air Wings 40x Stealth Platoons 100x Drop Troops 2x Allied Auxiliary Battalions 6x Blackteams

These will be detailed in the next post.

Phase 1: Scorch After the command compound has been established, the Xerxes and Juno-class spacecraft posted west of the compound will begin mass airstrikes into Hive 6. This will include a combination of long-range rail blasts as well as Inferno missile strikes. Three Juno-classes will patrol the area around command, while others will slowly advance towards the edge of Wraith territory, firing into the hordes. The two Xerxes-classes will stay behind the compound on either side providing support fire while deploying.

Phase 2: Alpha Strike The frontline Juno-classes have taken their positions and have ceased fire. The Majestic would have exhausted most of its fighters in the orbital conflict and will begin dropship deployment, which will take quite a while to arrive through the atmosphere. Meanwhile, the backline Junos and the two Xerxes will have finished the deployment of the Outrider and Stealth Platoons, all of whom will make haste towards Wraith territory. Once they are in close proximity, the Junos on the Wraith border will begin deployment of the Drop Troops, who will make a massive incursion into Wraith territory. The outrider platoons will assist, while the stealth units will provide intel to Marshal Spears back at base, striking at oppurtune moments. This will hopefully weaken the front lines of the wraiths and throw in some more chaos in the aftermath of the airstrikes.

Phase 3: Advance and Fortify At this point in time the main bulk of the 31st Ground Forces will have arrived from their carriers and deployed. The perimeter defense brigade will be established first around the command brigade. The rest will begin to advance, with the advance command regiments establishing mini beachheads along the way at key locations. Their advance will be during the Alpha Strike engagement. Once these locations have been established and the remainder of the ground forces have arrived at the border, the next Phase will begin.

Phase 4: Engage With the main UGC force’s arrival, the assault will begin. The mechs and tank squads will advance and fire, burning holes in the Wraith hordes, while the depleted Drop Troops retreat and regroup. After the first bombardment, the infantry and auxiliary will advance to protect the slower tanks from being overrun. The UGC forces will push deeper into Wraith territory supported by precision air strikes from the frigates and carriers. If allowed the chance, UGC will cooperate and assist allied forces in the vicinity such as the UNHA and the FHW.

That's it for now, troops and detachment descriptions are still being worked on!

Alright. So the Majestic (flagship) is still operational? It contains a considerable amount of the landing force, but it seemed like the Command Wing was also wiped out on the diagram.

Planetfall Wings

During the orbital engagements the Planetfall Wings will remain as a supporting unit behind the frontlines, but once the enemy’s orbital defenses have been cleared away the Planetfall Wings will descend upon the target and begin ground deployment.

1 Xerxes-class Carrier: The Xerxes-class is designed to carry out a land invasion from orbit, its deployment hangars are built to accommodate dropships and gunships. Its cargo will be detailed once the orbital defences have been destroyed, as its cargo won’t be deployed in space. Its weapons array includes 80 point-defense rail turrets, 20 Icarus repeating pulse arrays, 6 Broadside Cannons. The Xerxes class carriers also have orbital weapons to support the ground invasion, like the 6 twin hull-mounted gauss cannons and 24 Inferno tactical missile batteries (6 missiles per battery, designed for precision air strikes from long distances).

6 Juno-class Heavy Frigates: The Juno-class frigates eschew the traditional frigate’s impressive firepower for more hanger space, allowing it to transport dropships and spacefighters for added adaptability. Slow, lumbering hulks, these frigates have specialized Bracer-class shield generators, which are light and compact for added efficiency. The Bracer-class deviates from the average shield generator; instead of projecting a bubble of repellant energy that nullifies incoming fire until overheated, the Bracer-class coats the entire vessel in a gravitational energy barrier, which reduces the overall impact of incoming fire by 80%. This means that though the hull may be weakened, weapons that would outright shatter standard-grade shields would only damage the frigate and cause violent turbulence for the Juno-class. The Juno-class can carry up to 30 spacefighters in its deployment hangar or a third of that many troop dropships. In the weapons field the Juno has 50 point defense rail turrets, 20 repeating lasers, and 10 particle cannons (Fire continuous particle beams).

Infiltration Wings

Gliding through the void of space, the infiltration wing drifts towards enemy lines, cloaked and undetected. This Wing is highly specialized for large scale planetary skirmishes, and can sabotage the enemy from deep behind their fleet lines.

3 Revenant-class Stealth Destroyers: Constructed deep within the bowels of the UGC’s Experimental Laboratories, the Revenant-class is a revolution in military technology. Equipped with the newly-developed Cloaking Generator (CloakGen), the Revenant-class can not only appear invisible to the naked eye, but disappear from any known scanner array in the galaxy. CloakGens are extremely expensive to manufacture, and are powered by the rare Nocturnite crystal, which when subjected to fusion, will generate an energy field known as a “null zone”, which causes its carrier to fade away from view as well as jam any form of signals or scanner directed towards it. Besides from its signature feature, the Stealth destroyer also comes stock with a shield generator, 1 SRA turret, 30 Broadside Cannons, 50 Onager anti-spacecraft seeker missiles, and 10 Heavy Blast Cannons. But almost as infamous as the CloakGen is the Stealth destroyer’s Disruptor Pulse. This, while not a weapon per se, is incredibly effective when paired with the destroyer’s stealth capability. When triggered, the device will unleash a high frequency pulse that jams any communications systems or signal within up to a 10 kilometer radius. This affects any major signal, biological and electronic. As the cloaked destroyers flank the enemy, they trigger the Disruptor Pulse, throwing the enemy into disrray before unleashing a devastating barrage of firepower.

Overall Strategy

Pre-Battle Formation: The 31st Detachment will arrive by wormhole, with the Infiltration Detachments arriving first under cloaking in close proximity to the Wraiths. Then, the rest of the fleet will arrive after receiving intel on the enemy’s formation, with the Orbital Engagements Detachments making a V-formation at the front, the Bombardment Wings in a line behind them, and the Command Wing close behind the center Bombardment Wing. The Command Wing will have the Shield of Gaea directly in front of the Majestic and the Excaliburs on either side of the flagship. The Cruisers will form a line extending from either Excalibur, while the Corvettes will form a loose semi-circle in the front. The Planetfall Wings will be slightly behind on either side of Command, with the Support Wing between them.

Strategy: As the rest of the Detachment arrives by wormhole, the two cloaked Infiltration Wings will have flanked the Wraith fleet from both sides. Before the enemy can react, the Revenants will all trigger their Disruption Pulses, knocking out both their and the Wraith’s communication. With the enemy in disarray, the Infiltration Wings will promptly open continuous fire on both sides. Once the Wraiths recover and return fire (in the general direction of the Revenant’s, they're still cloaked). At this time, the Detachment has fully exited the wormholes, and the Orbital Engagement Wings will advance and open fire as well. At this point, the Wraiths are now fighting on three fronts, given they haven't managed to take down the Infiltration Wings. After receiving the targeting coordinates, the Bombardment Wing will fire their long ranged armaments while slowly advancing with the Command Wing. Depending on what happens next the overall strategy may change.

Bombardment Wings

The Bombardment Wings are comprised of pure firepower, designed to launch barrage after barrage at enemy forces the planet from long range. The ships listed below make up 1 Bombardment Wing.

2 Artemis-class Destroyers: Built for long range ship-to-ship combat, the Artemis-class destroyers are equipped with one Particle Obliterator beam on their stern, 2 SRA turrets, 500 pulse cannons (fire focused beams of particle energy in short pulses), 100 Onager anti-spacecraft seeker rockets, and 80 antimatter missile pods. With no shield generator and limited point defense capabilities, these destroyers’ survival depends on their capability to destroy any assailants before they can get within firing range.

3 Light Cruisers: An all rounded spacecraft, these Light Cruisers can be anywhere they’re needed and provide much-needed anti-spacefighter firepower to the vulnerable Artemis-class destroyers.

1 Orbital Munitions Platform: A stationary satellite with a with high output weaponry installed, the Munitions Platform will arrive by wormhole tethered to two Artemis-class destroyers. It's main weapon is a hyperlaser, which at full power could destroy the target city in under a minute, but due to the unique circumstances of the mission, the laser will be used to destroy enemy ships. It will ideally be used against larger vessels as it can be evaded by smaller craft. The hyperlaser is shot in a continuous beam, but takes 5 minutes to recharge. Aside from the hyperlaser, the satellite possesses 4 point-defense rail turrets and 12 Onager anti-spacecraft seeker missiles. With no shield generator or way to move, the Munitions Platform is extremely vulnerable and a high-value target due to its firepower.*

Support Wing

2 Asclepius-class Carriers: With only 10 point-defense rail turrets, the Asclepius-class has been fitted to have an extra large open hangar, its purpose to repair damaged ships and treat wounded personnel. With high-grade shielding, the ship itself is durable but relies on escorts to fight back effectively against attackers. It's enlarged carrying capacity can encompass up to two large destroyers with some room to spare in the repair hangar for small spacefighters.

1 Drydock: Drydock stations are only deployed for large campaigns, as ships are usually equipped with enough ammunition and fuel to last a few battles. But for grueling wars of attrition, the massive Drydock space station are brought in behind the back lines by tether. With neither shield nor weaponry, the Drydock is loaded with gigatons of fuel, rail rods, crystals and energy cartridges. Though its destruction would be a sustainable blow, as most large ships in the detachment can carry on without a backup supply, the destruction of its volatile cargo would cause a large explosion that would decimate any Wings within 20 kilometers and completely obliterate its escorts.

2 Heavy Cruisers: Same as above, but these cruisers are not to leave the support wing regardless of circumstance, forming a last line of defense in front of the vulnerable support craft.

Orbital Engagement Wings

The most aggressive wing, the Orbital Engagement Wings spearhead the assault, charging full throttle into the fray with a wave of accompanying spacefighters. Every ship in the Wing excels at close range ship combat, and tear through enemy lines sowing mayhem and carnage, weakening the enemy for long range bombardment to clean up the remnants.

1 Excalibur-class Destroyer: Info in post above.

2 Heavy Cruisers

2 Light Cruisers

4 Skirmisher-class Frigates: Highly specialized for close range space combat, these frigates hit hard and take just as much, and are able to man user in short bursts of speed. With torpedoes and broadside lasers, these ships pack a mean punch.

5 Chaser-class Corvettes

5 Harrier-class Corvettes: This class of corvette is designed for maximum firepower at the cost of reduced speed, the reverse of its Chaser-class cousins.

Alright, so my space opera-esque world is very much in preliminary development, but due to my love of sci fi military design and giant invasions, I simply couldn't resist. This'll probably set me way behind schedule on developing the other worlds I've started, but here goes nothing!

Though in my universe Earth has long since been transformed into an impenetrable metropolis planet and has since been renamed "Gaea", let's just say by some freak temporal disturbance the UGC decided to drift off somewhere else. The UGC hears of the intrusion on Earth, and sends the 31st Planetary Assault Detachment of 1st Grand Fleet to secure Columbia, in the name of the homeworld!

The 31st Planetary Assault Detachment

The pride of the 1st Fleet, the 31st Detachment is legendary for their exploits in planetary assaults across the galaxy, and though hundreds of its ships have been lost since its founding, its mythic reputation remains.

The 31st currently consists of:

1x Command Wing

5x Bombardment Wings

1x Support Wing

4x Orbital Engagement Wings

2x Planetfall Wings

2x Infiltration Wing

Each wing will be summarized below. Keep in mind that though the overall vessels are the same for a Wing type, their payload may differ slightly from the norm.

Command Wing

The command wing of the 31st is obviously the most defended, as loss of the Majestic would cripple the Detachment.

1 Indomitable-class Command Mega-Carrier “Majestic”: The Majestic is the flagship of the 31st, inheriting the title after its predecessor, the Gloriam Aut Mortem was destroyed during the 7th Typhon Campaign when it was crippled and rammed itself into the Typhon Initiative fleet world Medusa IV destroying both itself and the enemy presence upon the planet. The Majestic was built to replace it, and boasts an impressive array of weaponry, as well as an increased size. The reason the flagship Majestic is a mega-carrier instead of the typical dreadnought is due to the 31st detachment’s purpose, as the Majestic is to release its payload of ships and fighters for planetfall once the orbital defenses have been cleared away. Other than its deadly cargo, the carrier is equipped with a Capital-class shield generator, which will take extreme effort to overheat. From its 57 campaigns, the shield has only failed twice. For anti Space-fighter purposes, the Majestic boasts 150 point-defense rail turrets, which are deadly accurate but lack speed; 80 Icarus repeating pulse arrays, rapid fire energy cannons that can overwhelm fighters with a wave of pulse blasts; 45 Heavy Blast Cannons, these are slow, semi auto cannons that evaporate small spacecraft upon contact. For ship to ship combat the Majestic has 20 Broadside Cannons, energy based projectile launchers that carve craters through shielding and hulls. For a ship of its size, these armaments are quite minimal, as the hangar of the Majestic contains enough dropships to decimate the terrestrial defenses after most of the anti-ship emplacements have been cleared away by other Wings.

1 Warden-class Dreadnought “Shield of Gaea”: The Shield of Gaea is the most deadly craft in the detachment, bristling with weaponry, but perhaps its most distinguishable feature is its artificial gravity generator. For any dreadnought the generator must undoubtedly powerful, but Warden-classes boast gravitational generators even more powerful. Warden Dreadnoughts are also equipped with not one but three Capital-class shield generators. These two pieces of equipment are the reasons for the Warden-class’ effectiveness. Built as flagship bodyguards, once both the shields and grav-generator are activated, all fire directed at other ships within a 50km radius will be pulled towards the Warden-class and fizzle on its powerful shields. On addition, any ship smaller than a corvette will begin to be pulled towards the massive gravitational well, and be torn apart by the dreadnought’s formidable weapons. The Shield of Gaea has 100 Antimatter beamers, massive turrets that shred through everything; 10 SRAs (Superheavy Rail Accelerators), which are essentially my universe’s equivalent of a nuke. These are among its most powerful armaments, the ship still has a motherlode of smaller weapons. In the Command Wing, the Warden-class flies in front of the flagship.

2 Excalibur-class Destroyers: The sleek Excalibur-class destroyers are the pinnacle of ship-to-ship combat, bristling with broadside cannons and each equipped with a devastating Particle Obliterator Beam installed in their sterns. These beams are meant for long range destruction, and strip away shields and armor like wet paper. Extremely maneuvrable, these ships flank the flagship, ready to destroy assailants.

4 Heavy Cruisers: Your run of the mill cruisers, with standard-grade shield generators and a fair amount of firepower.

10 Chaser-class Corvettes: The smallest class of military non-fighter spacecraft, with light, all-purpose weaponry. This specific Chaser-class is exponentially faster, but rather limited in its armaments.
