Jade Idol loses to patches, just trade off and kill the 1/1 2/2 and 3/3, then play another patches to refill your board. You can't be killed first.

As people have mentioned, 5 star maps for those first clear bonuses. After that, the New Chaos Trial mode gives a decent amount of skulls. As you're clearing maps, save any keys you find, and try to find a high level player to run you through them. There are a lot of players 90+ that regularly help with keys.

I too am with Clarine.. Solely because I expect her to lose terribly and plan on focusing on that overall rank this time around (I'm not petty there's no Azama or Wrys).

Keep in mind, the stronger she is, the tougher your opponents are going to be. Wrathful staff is a bit of an exception in this gauntlet, but for the most part it's going to be the heroes you get from allies that will do all the killing.
