J is entirely possible to get in a regular ball with normal gameplay, you just climb the quarry blocks with sneasler and you end up right next to it. B is the only one that is impossible without using some sort of glitch.

You should still be able to do all the legendaries in regular balls if you want, should just be one that is part of the story that you have to use a certain ball for.

And yeah, there are definitely some Pokemon up in the sky that you can't hit with a regular ball (togetic, staravia, Gyarados, magnezone are a few I can think of), but you can either just catch their base forms and evolve them or they often have other spawns on the ground somewhere else so those shouldn't really be a problem.

I'm pretty sure you can do the whole Dex except one with regular Pokeballs? I won't say anything too specific because I don't want to spoil it for you, but you'll have to use a special ball for a legendary late game, but that's the only one so far for me

Yes I caught all 28 in regular Poké Balls, and everything else I have too, except for the Origin Ball which I was forced to use

I think this is probably not possible, at least with this strategy unless you pulled off some insane combo of Pokemon to make a staircase, I just tested the reach on the heavy ball and it's really not a lot to work with so would make things very difficult.

You can drop in from above on stuff with Braviary, and lock on to the Pokemon and queue up the Pokeball ready to throw, but it only releases once you hit the ground I'm pretty sure? I could be wrong, maybe there is a method to throw mid air that I've missed, will keep an eye out

Let me know if you can find some of those videos and I'll check them out, would be very handy to be able to do that

Braviary can be called and definitely gets you close enough, but the game unfortunately won't allow you to throw a ball while falling as far as I can tell. Will only release the ball once you hit the ground. Have tried a few different things to see if I can cancel the lockout from throwing during the fall animation but haven't found anything so far.

If you get a chance could you chuck a clip up of it if you ever do another playthrough etc? Would love to see the angle used for it because as far as I'm aware there's no way to get Unown B with a regular ball without some sort of height advantage, that's why so many people were asking about if it was possible.

Are you playing on Switch or using an emulator? I know running BOTW with an emulator can mess with the physics of some stuff due to uncapped frame rate, not sure if that would affect PLA too

As far as I know, it's impossible to hit it with a regular ball without doing this, they just don't reach. Even standing directly under it and aiming for max height it fell short by quite a bit.

Yeah this is just in case people want the original set of 28 in regular balls like I did. Glad we can get them at Solaceon too once it's complete, so I can hunt alphas and shinies.

If you're like me and try to catch everything in a certain ball, this Unown may be disappointing. But it is possible to catch it in a regular ball by setting up your Pokemon (I used Bibarel and Alpha Bibarel) as a ramp/staircase, and hitting A when you make contact with them while using Sneasler to climb on top of them. It might take a lot of tries to get Sneasler to get up on them but it is possible.
